The well-trained staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. The professional service is something these restaurateurs care about. As you can see, this bar has the lovely decor. Google users assigned the score of 4.7 to Zapote Bar.
The details, the atmosphere, the passion, the taste, the smell. Zapote Bar is a heck of an experience. It’s sophisticated, but at the same time sexy, relaxed and chill, you won’t want to leave! Now be aware it’s not a cheap night, you’re paying top NY/LA bar prices here, but keep in mind that Zapote is rated as one of the top 50 bars in North America and you’re getting a very unique experience and one of a kind ingredients, so if you’re on board with that, the bar will not disappoint.
We didn’t stay at the resort, but both resort staff and wait staff/bartenders were very accommodating to us visiting. The place had an amazing dark, candle-lit atmosphere. The music (while loud) was very cool, they had a dj that night and they seem to have live music on Fridays/Saturdays I believe, so the overall vibe was awesome.
Drinks: Cocktails were on point. We had the Jaguar (my pick of the night), Colibrí, Boa (my wife’s pick), the warm Irish coffee martini drink (excellent!) and 3 more that at that point forgot to jot down (oops, but we were there for like 3 hours and having a blast!). All very highly rated on our end, and the bartenders know exactly what they’re doing, they are experts and are passionate at their craft. If you sit at the bar (why wouldn’t you), the bartenders will explain to you anything and everything about your drink. Some are based off mystical Mayan legends and stories (i.e. The Colibrí) and others are twists of one or two classic cocktails that, when combined, just suit each other. Genius.
Food wise: the Pollo dish is more than excellent and probably the best chicken dish we’ve had (dare I say ever) so if in doubt just get that, it’s also a large shareable dish. Like the entire menu it’s a Mediterranean inspired style dish and just the right amount of heat. The sauces were excellent and chicken was cooked to perfection over fire. Nothing like it. I’m literally salivating typing this. The Ribeye was very nice, good seasoning, and cooked perfectly to a medium rare. All the appetizers and dips we had were excellent and you’ll love it if you fancy Mediterranean. We also overheard the lamb chops to be really great.
There is also a Blue Room for special guests that boasts a laboratory number of Mezcals, Tequilas and bitters. Very cool cozy speakeasy type hang out. But we’ll keep it on the DL (sshhhhh 🤫).
Overall, Zapote is worth all the hype and absolutely worth it due to the quality of drinks and food, top notch service, passionate and knowledgeable staff and the atmosphere.
Shout out to @DriftersJoint on IG for the recommendation and Salvador at the bar for treating us like we were regulars, even tho we’re from L.A. and first time guests. We will definitely be back and we’re already booking our next trip here. ¡Muchísimas gracias!

I only had drinks. Place is in top 50 bars in Latin America. Looks very good, nothing to complain: staff is perfectly trained, drinks are correctly made and good. Place itself is luxurious, but I won’t give it a 5* just because I didn’t feel that authenticity. I had divine cocktails at a local fish restaurant in Playa at 1/4 of the price in Zapote :)

I went for a drink. Excellent service, nice and cozy design of the bar...it really looks great. The drinks were good to very good. The only minus is the price (overpriced in my opinion ~27$ for one cocktail). I tried signature cocktails.
Please note it is inside the resort.

Craft cocktails are amazing. We’re very picky when it comes to cocktails and are frequently disappointed at many locations but Zapote doesn’t disappoint at all, everything we tried here was just excellent; not overdone or stupidly elaborate, just fantastic fresh tasting and beautifully blended ingredients.
The food is also excellent (though on our previous visit in 2021 the food was less good, this time it was excellent all round). The naan and spread sampler is a great starter, and the garlic lime shrimp and spicy yoghurt chicken were everything you could hope for.
Well worth a visit even if you’re not staying at the Rosewood (which you should if you can because it’s also amazing).
If like us you’re a little older and don’t care for louder music while you eat then just request a seat outside and the music is only background level.

Zapote just recently was awarded top 50 bars in Mexico and it does not disappoint. The cocktails here are craft and some of the best on this side of Mexico. If you like Tequila and Mezcal, ask the bar tender or server to give you a tasting. Let them expand your palette or simply delight you with their choices of boutique but tasty spirits. “Checco” our waiter was unbelievable. We went back 3 times because the cocktails and food were so good and because he made our experience amazing! Incredible service. Angel, was working the bar while we were there and he is outstanding. Highly recommend.
Zapote Bar is a restaurant located inside Rosewood Mayakoba. The menu includes a lot of dishes with middle eastern flavors (e.g. za’atar, tzatziki, etc.) We ordered the pickled veggies, grilled squash, grilled lamp chops, and the fideua (a paella-esque dish with noodles). Everything we ordered was delicious but the items from the grill were standouts. The grilled squash was smoky and creamy and so flavorful from the za’-star, black pepper, and lemon. Wow, what a flavor combination! And the lamb chops with the pink peppercorn and agave. Whoa. Another amazing flavor combo. The next time I come here I plan to try the rest of the items from the grill.
Excellent service, like every other place at Rosewood.
I used to go very often to “La Luna” restaurant in San Miguel de Allende at the Rosewood and We give it a try to “Zapote” restaurant at the Rosewood in Cancun, usually you get a very good service in Mexico but this time was not good. The food was not as good and is an expensive restaurant!, change the menu also in San Miguel, is not working for you!

Very good drinks, definitely at the level of what you would get at the best bars in NYC. Also get the bar nuts. One nut was dusted in hibiscus and one on a black pepper. So good.
Our favorite meal! The chicken is delicious (I know…chicken right? It’s THAT good…we went twice in 4 nights). Hummus was amazing, salad fresh and tasty, my husband said his carpaccio was some of the best he’s ever had. Our server, Carlos, was kind and welcoming. We can’t wait to go back!!!
