Drive past this place twice a day and always think I must stop in. Today I did and I have to say this is top 5 sushi of my life. Lots of choice and different flavors ive not had before. Can't wait to try the hot dishes! Convenient parking at the rear also. Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

This is the best local sushi shop if you want stock standard options or the fancier ones. So fresh and good to see that recyclable card containers are now available for take out.

This is the best sushi I have ever had in my life. Tuna sushi lovers will not be disappointed. Other than the incredible aforementioned tuna, there are so many great options that are delicious and fresh. You have not lived until you have had this sushi. This is a hidden gem in tauranga. It's the best sushi in the bay of plenty in my opinion. The food is always fresh and well presented. And it all tastes delicious at a very good price!

I fell in love with donburi almost a year ago and since then I have gone out of my way to try the teriyaki chicken from as many places as I can since. I’ve tried it from almost every single sushi shop in the bay of plenty and Sam’s Donburi is by far the best I have ever tried. Perfect chicken, delicious salad and perfect rice to go with it as well as the perfect ratio of all 3. I don’t know how it could get much better! Edit 6 months later: I have now travelled Japan and tried donburi everywhere I got a chance to over there and still nowhere beats Sam’s teriyaki donburi. It’s so good!!! Their sushi is very big and delicious. You can tell they are using the best sushi rice. Donburi is freshly cooked and you can choose 3 mains for the large size.

Salmon nigiri clearly perished. Smelt terribly, could not eat any of it Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Fantastic service and delicious food. Our donburi was cooked fresh for us. Lots of chicken that had heaps of flavour, great value for money.
Delicious fresh sushi and nigiri, generous with salmon. Like that there are plates, not like some sushi shops that produce vast volumes of landfill... great rice paper wraps with fresh salad, apple and teriyaki chicken.
