We came here to pick our own strawberries today. Even in the rain it was very pleasant as the strawberry area is covered. It cost us $15 to fill a big punnet. The shop also offered a range of other berry products including raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, berry wines and berry liquor. This is an ok place for strawberry picking. The strawberry’s are grown in a sort of glasshouse. The quality ain’t comparable to the strawberry farms of South Island. The berry’s aren’t sweet and go bad very quickly. The 15$ box is standard especially post Covid when everything has risen in price significantly. The ice cream 6.5$ is ok. The can drinks are expensive (6.5$). And cabinet food is ok from a taste perspective. Extremely busy during Summers and check before hand if picking is open or not (not available everyday) . Service lags considerably (we had to wait 20-25 mins for an ice cream ) I assume this is a family run business so quite acceptable of what you get but there is huge room for improvement. There is a pair of alpacas but not for interaction. Try other places if you have an option. Meal type Other Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Recently had brunch here. We picked a very busy day and staff were very busy. We ordered our brunch and sat and chatted in the bright and breezy Cafe. Everything was lovely. Family run business that was great. Food was great. A great place to take kids too. Recommend.

Stopped in on our way back from a work trip. It was super hot so the idea of an icecream would have hit the spot. No dairy free options sadly so settled for a punnet if strawberries and blackberries which were yummy. Whole parking lot and area around the place is full of rubbish. I did not see something like this in NZ before. Seems like they are not interested in the nature around. Food I actually can’t rate as I was there 20min before they closed and nobody wanted to take my order for a single Coffee. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

So impressed. Left my cardigan behind and the proprietor is sending it to me. He refused my offer of reimbursement for postage. How nice is that!! Pancakes and berries delicious but serving so huge I couldn't eat it all!! Service from the ladies was lovely. We did pick your own both strawberries and raspberries, the ladies who served us there were lovely. After our pick we went inside for an ice cream, the service in there was also lovely. However it was incredibly unpleasant and unprofessional hearing an older male staff member talk down to the other staff his tone and words were not very nice to witness. Strawberries and raspberries very picked over. Spoke to the staff member selling the cartons and she suggested there was more than enough. However areas were corded off for no picking and there was not much ripe. Parking lot could use some cones to mark access in and out. The parking area/ field near the raspberry patch was chaos. Two alpacas were cute. Cafe looked tasty but we did not sample. I do not think we will be back. Drove an hour because read rave reviews. Disappointed. A fantastic place to go with the family and have a fun day out picking our own berries. The Cafe has a very limited menu to choose from but still enjoyable meals. We did have a disagreement about what we had paid for and received but that was sorted, this did seem to happen to another 2 tables around us, maybe someone was having a bad day?
