Cheerful and friendly staff, but below-average cappuccino for this kind of establishment (in the Netherlands). The biggest "problem" was that the milk (and foam) was hotter than supposed to, making it impossible to drink the cappuccino immediately. No problem letting it cool off, but the (too high) temperature also affected the overall flavour/taste/quality of the drink. Really unfortunate.
I came with my parents who spoke highly of it and have visited multiple times, but agreed that this time was below Van Rossum's usual/previous standard. Perhaps the barista that day was not their usual one (and/or in-training) but a disappointing first visit.
I also tried their (spicy) hot chocolate (freshly made, with ginger slices) and Kombucha (a Butcha can). The chocolate was nice, but nothing to write home about. The Kombucha was what you can expect from a Butcha can (and thus nothing like a "fresh" homemade kombucha).
Because of my parents' prior (positive) visits I'll give Van Rossum the benefit of the doubt and try again another time, otherwise I'd have given it 2 stars (purely because of the drinks).

We hadden een heerlijke warme chocolademelk. Het was gezellig druk binnen met leuke verschillende stoelen en bankjes om op te zitten. Het is er wel klein binnen, maar dat geeft eigenlijk niks....
