A lovely atmosphere with with friendly staff and unique decor. There was a great selection of both menu and cabinet foods. Many options had something special that lifted them above standard cafe items. The food was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back to try more options. It’s wonderful on a sunny day to sit outside and enjoy the calm environment while the children have lots to see. We loved the special glassware for the milkshakes and coffees. I was extremely lucky to experience the best example of a pie I've had in my 32 years under the sun! The short rib and jalapeno pie was a gods gift to mankind! Great coffee too 🤙 Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Whaitangi day went to go down the road for food to this cafe. Wondered why it looked so quiet???? We were disgusted to see a 20% surcharge advertised, on the window. Also a sign that said we can not give out water! This is not inviting to any prospective customers. Another couple came up behind us saw the signage and turned around. We also left and refuse to pay an additional surcharge of 20% on top of the prices charged for food and drink. Pure extortion. Why be in the business of hospitality when you canNOTshow hospitality? Went to Little River where there were no surcharges. Sorry u missed out on our business.
This cafe is a nice place to stop with an outdoor area and some rabbits and chickens for kids to look at. You can take your dog around to the outdoor area, too, if it's on a lead. The food is homemade or very well made with beautiful pastries and a delicious pork pie. Salads are fresh and interesting, and the coffee is good. I would recommend stopping in if you're out that way. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Super cute cafe with unbelievable sweet treats. Very friendly staff. I had a white chocolate raspberry muffin and mocha! Both were great. Perfect stop on the way to the Giant's house.
Very good pies. Good coffee. But unfortunately we haven’t had the chance to try their food as kitchen closed at 2pm on Saturdays (door closes at 4pm) Service Dine in Meal type Other Price per person $10–20

Staff are very friendly and it is a nice atmosphere. We had a Danish pastry and two flat whites, one with an extra shot. The pastry was delicious, but unfortunately, the coffees were disappointing. Both were weak and the milk tasted a little bit off Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What an awesome unique cafe. The cheese scone was perfect as was the coffee. The owner very humorous and honest. Accidentally overcharged us but came out apologised and refunded. This is a place that I will happily be going back to. Brilliant Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Stopped off to use the facilities and a bite to eat. Tables outside are a bit basic but there is a back section which would be nice with more tables/ umbrellas maybe a garden with a fountain and some of those gnomes everyone loves so much...... . Nice enough ambience inside. Very soliticious staff, happy to help. Not overly busy but a steady stream of people heading to and from Christchurch/ Akaroa/ Diamond Harbour. Reasonably priced food and a pot of Earl Grey tea enough for 2. Nice place . Last time I was here it was the Black Tulip (?). Parking too.

The first time we went there the coffee was great. The second time we were there the coffee was less than spectacular, and there was a 20% holiday surcharge meaning the sandwich and coffee I got was $40. It was a great pulled pork sandwich though. The eggs bene was served on a scone too which was a choice I would’ve have made. Very friendly service by the cute guy behind the counter. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $40–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
