Staff are lovely, location is great. However, I had one of the worst steaks I’ve ever eaten. The Surf & Turf sirloin was a sinewy, unseasoned piece of steak topped with a few watery shrimps and cold, pink seafood dressing. The chips and salad were lovely. Our other meal was the Cajun fish which was very tasty, but expensive for what it is. Service Dine in Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went to this restaurant after a very long day, arriving just on sunset. There are a few parks in front of the restaurant and as it wasn't busy, there were plenty of places to park. It is located on an older style building with French doors. The restaurant has a Northerly aspect that overlooks the harbour. The decor is pleasant but utilitarian. The menu is pretty standard, we ordered two mains and a starter for three persons, as we weren't that hungry. Food was above average but is not exceptional. Service was excellent. I wouldn't purposely take a trip to Raglan to visit this restaurant but if I was already there, I wouldn't hesitate to visit the place again. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–40 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Fish and Chips

We visited a couple of times while staying locally, i really enjoyed my Mushroom Burger washed down with a Chop Hop beer. On a different visit we tried their alcoholic milkshakes, i enjoyed the Chocolate & Bailey's milkshake, sadly the glass size was not big enough for my liking. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
I was today with my family, and when I went to pay, I found a sign saying that 15% would be applied because of a public holiday after having made the payment. No one told me this upfront, and also, in the menu was not displayed. The manager and what I think was the owner explained to me (not in the best way) that a sign was displayed, I didn't see this, perhaps instructing your staff to tell the customers before they order and putting this on the menue or website would be more transparent? The kiddie burger apparently is from a supermarket and the bun was dry. The staff was friendly with exception of the manager and the owner and the other dishes were OK, nothing special. Our first burger was raw in the middle so we got a second one. But just before we bit into it we noticed a big blue fly melted in the cheese!! And to top it off they forgot to give the kids free ice creams like it said in the menu... We got the burger for free and they apologized but definitely won't be going back there!! The chef is clearly not a chef, more like a grandpa that came out to apologize. Very nice lady at the cashier. Very inexperienced waiter. I clearly suggest they re vamp the restaurant, get some young fresh ideas in, and get a experienced chef and waiter. Even the music was old fashioned.😄
