Nice little galley! Complementary - that’s really nice giving access for free to a place like that! Very nice little cafe with beautiful views. Lamb pie was really great.

The Suter Gallery is not just a place of Art and creativity but also a place of peace and, without even leaving the building, a culinary delight! From today until March 2024 it’s hosting the ‘Fire and earth’ exhibition showing the finest clay and porcelain art from the north of the South Island🤩

Was actually quite impressed with this gallery, it’s on the small side (4 rooms I believe) but each was unique. Manny the Moa exhibit was my favourite by far! You can purchase a Moa for $400 to add your own personal name to the exhibit The cafe on site is also nice, big windows over looking the gardens. They do table service. The tea for 2 is just 2 pots though, so if you’re splitting with someone it’s better just to each get the tea you actually want since there’s no discount for tea for 2 vs tea for 1 The gift shop here is also fantastic! A great selection of kiwi artists and art!!
Every time I go home to Nelson from OZ I pop in here. It has never let me down. The art is always wonderful and it's a pleasure to view. The Maori and other culture are brilliant. The Cafe has been in the past and is now still the yummiest food, the staff really cool and lovely as well. Deffinitly go it you are visiting or live near by. The Queens gardens is the best spot to go for young and old.

The gallery is wonderful...BUT...afterwards we went into the cafe with our two overseas visitors ..and they were accosted by the owner...bombarded with questions...have you seen my beautiful food...have you chosen ...go back and choose...on and on..... ushered to a table we didn't want...had to stand our ground and insist we sat where we wanted to with a view of the pond...that we would wait for our last friend to join us...one of my friends was ambushed and browbeaten...her words. The worst customer service EVER experienced....this from international mature travellers. Come on Suter ...this spoiled the trip as this was their last place before leaving Nelson.

Super gallery, four large rooms for the art, well stocked shop and excellent cafe.
Interesting, well presented collection. Fabulous and creative gift shop. Can be a short stop. Complimentary entrance fee but worthy of a donation

Best of local and national artists on display, a must visit when in Nelson. The cafe offers amazing food and coffee, coupled with great service. The views across to Queens Gardens is just the icing on the carrot cake.
I often go to the cafe as it has a beautiful outlook over the lake in Queen St gardens. Nice salads too and staff.
I'm giving this 5 stars as it is interesting to visit. Some of the works weren't my bag but in saying that it was well presented and there was a bit of history to read on some exhibits.
