OK this is our first time dinning there. But I can't work it out why they have 4 an half stars. 😕. To my all the food I order. Not even up to 3 stars. I will give them 2 an half stars. Because the squad ring was soft . The crispy chicken n salad . I would say from frozen food. They even say Korean style chicken. ??? I can't taste any Korean style. Also not crispy at all. Next dish is pork belly. Omg. The skin was so hard. The top of fat is OK nice soft but the bottom of the pork meat has been pan fry so dry. I hate to write a comment of the restaurant of the food . If so far so good I will just let it past. But not with 4 an half stars. The cook needs think of quality control. Use heart to cook all your dishes from menu. Yourself willing to play for the dishes before you serve to customers. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

This was my first visit, and the food and service were faultless. I was part of a large party that ordered entrees, mains and desserts, and all came out together. No one had to wait. I had the Bruschetta, Venison and the Lemon creme brulée. It all was delicious! I really did not expect that, even if i had a recommendation from my Motel. It is the first restaurant in NZ where the waitress did ask during my dinner in each corse, if everything was good. Well done! And a big, big compliment to the kitchen brigade. Interesting menu. We really enjoyed the battered sweetbreads, venison and the Hare. Fabulously cooked, beautiful presentation of food. Staff did very well with pretty full house & a function group too. Our choice of Deserts were lovely, Eton mess & spiced apple mudcake. Amazing quality food, totally surpassed expectations. Flavour combinations and textures were perfect. Clearly the chef loves their job. Excellent range on the menu. We came to Invercargill to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our daughters flew in from Auckland and New Plymouth to surprise him at the restaurant. Unfortunately our meals did not live up to expectations. Soup was barely warmed, steak definitely not fillet! Gravy and mash also barely warmed. Returned to the kitchen to be reheated. One drink was incorrectly served and we had to reorder another after a serious wait. All in all for around the $45.00 mark for each main this did not meet expectations as we had dined here in December 2020 on another trip and loved everything! Went tonight with another couple we all had 3 courses and all had no complaints the food was excellent. The wait staff though were the stars! (Flynn and Madison). We're knowledgeable friendly prompt and attentive so good out of such young staff they could certainly help out Wait staff twice there age at many other eateries, they were simply excellent Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $70–80
Had the share platter. Was not he best to be honest. And the server forgot who ordered what for the drinks. The atmosphere was great, and staff were really friendly but maybe a tad inexperienced. The venison was excellent, sides were also very nice, complimenting the meat. Highly recommend making reservation ahead of time. Service can be better, if you get a young guy taking care if your order it requires some patience and understanding. None the less the food was 👌 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
A fairly large restaurant space and a good looking menu. The portions were very filling and rather large. We had the lamb rack and the goat rack (listed as shank but they didn’t have it) and both were so-so. Fairly limited selection of wines by the glass. Nice staff (as good as most places in NZ) and were quite thorough. Food takes a while to get to your table, and this was a Monday evening after 8.15 pm.
