Excellent place to relax with dinner and a beer. The beer selection was acceptable and the food was good. Generous portions. Staff were welcoming, nice and patient with us first timers. The female staff at the counter explained that I could grab a menu from the bar counter, have a seat, and order at the bar when ready. The two of us shared the Tomahawk cooked medium rare, mussels, onion rings and two beers. The Tomahawk was nicely done, juicy and tender. The fries that came with it was hot, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside - perfect. We tried eating the mussels with utensils (like we did at a previous restaurant) but these were harder to open so we gave up and just enjoyed eating them with our hands - there are washrooms with soap and water available. The onion rings and beers were good and complemented the meal nicely.

Been going here for years, has been awesome. Few encounters in the last 3 weeks. They forgot my food a few weeks ago, but was quickly resolved, the staff are awesome, respectful & helpful. There is one shocking sheep unfortunately. Yesterday, we asked if we could have a refund as our table had already received and ate their food, whilst we were waiting another 25 minutes. This wasnt a big deal we decided to ask for a refund so we could leave with our group after the chef came out to nicely say she had forgotten our order, it was fine. Whilst, majority of staff are awesome there is one rude lady, frustrated and flustered she quickly became defensive. She said "you cant have a refund, shes already made your food, you just got to take it away" followed by "this isint mc donalds youve only been waiting for 20 minutes" 25 minutes after our table ate, & and hour in total, this wasnt the problem at all. It was how rude she was unfortunately. We are not fussy, we dont actually like making big scenes but the treatment from this lady was poor & this is not the first time I have seen her act unprofessional. After an uncomfortable exchange of words, confusion, defensiveness and irritability from her, 10 minutes later we get our food. Graciously, accept it and just really wanted to get out of there and back to our car and eat. There was a plastic thing inside my salad from what looks like a bottle seal. For what its worth mentioning, the salad and steak looked great regarless of the plastic. And to be quite honest, had we not had the encounter with the lady prior, I would of just taken the damn thing out and continued eating it. However, we did not feel satisfied with customer service and treatment from her. We understand people make mistakes & it is a busy time of the year, so no shade to the chef at all. Annoyed at this point, my partner goes in to ask for a refund a second time for the salad and then she accuses him of tampering with the salad rudely. Why would we want to tamper with the food we just wanted to eat it, leave and forget about any dealings we had with old aunty, not come back in ffs! LOL! We like the ruck especially the food but bro sort it out lady, your unprofessionalism taints the business awesome reputation in the community both food, service and drinks. Great place for a steak and burgers. Crazy size steaks. Biggest being 1.4kg tomahawk called the T rex. Relaxed as pub atmosphere.

A go to spot and well worth the money for lunch. I come here with friends often and had the pleasure of sharing my son's first bar beersies here yesterday. The staff are awesome and the owners are wickedly cool! Come here for good beersies, great sports viewing (on the huge screen t.vs, projectors and outdoor teles) But that $10 steak if the one 😘👌

Dinner was excellent. Everything was cooked well and served quickly albeit we were there right on 5pm. Service was great. Really enjoyed the night. Another awesome dinner, steak with chips and hubby had a large burger and chips. Yummy, thank you again for an awesome afternoon. Had a fantastic experience, food, ambiance, and service wise. The manager of the day was great. I'm sorry I didn't catch her name. She booked our group of 28 in at the last minute. I absolutely recommend The Ruck to all. 11 out of 10! Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

If you want to be waiting for ages to get your money in the gaming room or just waiting for someone to come and change the lose change in the machine this is the place to come to they seem to enjoy having more of a conversation with each other then actually serving people and if you want a drink half of the staff just stare while one’s serving drinks then the rudeness the other night when one of the staff told everyone if you aren’t playing to get out of the gaming room, it’s pure rudeness Service: 1
