Outstanding experience which was well & truly worth the wait! It is very popular so you do have to wait but my oh my I have never quite tasted anything like this before & to have it prepared in front of me was so amazing! I was dining solo so I didn’t feel comfortable to film the chef but I wish I had as it was amazing! Steak Dianne was my choice & I will remember& savour this occasion for quite some time. If you appreciate a good steak this is not to be missed! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Steak Dianne

An amazing dining experience, quality cuts of tender juicey steak (Flambè steak Diane and the eye fillet) and lamb were cooked to perfection. The flambe prawn main and cured salmon entree were also devine as were the flambe crepes and rhubarb brulè. Chef is a master of his craft and the service was second to none. An amazing experience start to finish, I guarantee you'll leave very satisfied :-) Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My wife and I had the privilege of having our 40th wedding anniversary here. What a fantastic experience !!!. We had the Chateaubriand for 2 followed by the Crepe Suzettes. Food was amazing we have had this dish about 4 times in our 40 years of marriage and this was by far the VERY best we have ever had. The high quality beef eye fillet was cooked perfectly. Very generous helping. They used a good sized whole eye fillet, that could have fed a family of 4. Tony did a great job and was a lovely host to chat to while he was cooking our meal. He cooked the fillet and the Crepe's to perfection. It will always be a very memorable occasion for both of us. The price was also very very good. Have paid a lot more for inferior quality and quantity in Wellington. Great job Tony and the rest of the very friendly staff at the Orangery. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

Wow, extremely professional and well presented wait staff, who knew their dishes well. Gorgeously presented meals, that were DEVINE. Rib eye and Prawn flambe dish exquisite. Good lighting, music at reasonable level. Must go if looking for well priced, beautiful food.
The service was personal and we felt special, despite the restaurant being almost at capacity. The Flambé meal was a visual and gastronomical treat. Highly recommend the prawns and steak. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
Best restaurant in New Plymouth if you’re wanting quality food, generous portions and good atmosphere. Tony is exceptional with the flambé.

Wonderful meal. Had steak diane and prawns cooked at our table by the delightful Tony. Absolutely made my grand daughters night when she "helped" him. On holiday from the Coromandel Peninsula. Highly recommend this restaurant 👌👌 Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Rhubarb Brulee

As we were arriving 10 minutes late, we rang ahead and notified them of our late arrival. When we arrived, the waitress looked at us down her nose and snapped just a moment. When we gave our names she remarked “your late” my husband and I exchanged glances while she said this way and turned on her heel. I remarked how she was not wearing her name badge and she lifted her cardigan to show me she was named Fiona. First impression is Fiona hates her job and gives bad front of house service. Food was excellent and does not ever disappoint. What a shame about Fiona, she really lets the place down Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My partner and I had dinner here on a very busy night during Labour Weekend of 2022. From the get go the waitress that seated us was incredibly friendly and professional, despite being in the tail-end of a frantic double shift. We ended up sharing the Chateaubriand which was delicious, cooked to perfected and wonderfully presented by a master of the craft. At first we thought ourselves to be splurging during our holiday but considering it seemed we were served the majority of the cow, the dinner also turned out to be great value! We finished off the evening with the chocolate lava cake, which was incredibly indulgent, just what we wanted. Can't wait to come here again. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $40–50
