The enchiladas are the best I’ve had in Mexico. Seriously. We have been going here for years and it’s the first place our kids want to go when they arrive.

My wife and I were in La Cruz a week ago and visited this tiny place. It has excellent food and fast friendly service. Don't be put off by the outside looks, they are deceiving.

This place is incredible. Ate here two days in a row because it is the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had in my entire life. The staff are so friendly. I am actually upset I can't eat here on a weekly basis. Would fly to Mexico just to eat at the place.

Traveled from Virginia. Ate here twice in 2 days. We would go out of our way to eat here again next time we are in Mexico! The best. Wonderful family. Fresh juice. Amazing sandwiches
Awesome little place open for breakfast and lunch. I had the Cubana sandwich for lunch, very good and extremely cheap. Very much a hole in the wall type place, but don't be afraid, this is real Mexico, a real Mexican mum working hard to make a living.

We went for breakfast. This place is very good!! Don’t let the bad comments scare you away!! It’s very simple but also very delicious. The menu is on a white board with about 5 or 6 different options depending on when you go. The ladies were very attentive and helpful! We were the only customers that particular morning and had a wonderful breakfast less than $12 usd
2022 Update: still amazing and so delicious. Future self remember to try the chiles rellenos on Fridays and everyone thought the enchiladas were the best in town.
My favourite place to eat in La Cruz. They make delicious yet simple food - her cubana torta is wonderful. Check out the specials they make on Fridays. Ps if you are like me and didn’t practice your Spanish before your trip, don’t worry as the warm and welcoming owner’s english is great :)
Four of us had lunch here last week. We all had chicken enchiladas, 2 red sauce, 2 green sauce and we proclaimed them to be the best of our 3 week visit to the area. The quantity of food was matched by its quality. Marisol is very friendly and attentive. We have been playing tennis at a neighboring B&B and have walked past this diner a number of times and every lunchtime it is busy with happy local and expat faces. And being off the tourist strip, the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended!
The chef looked very professional and complete with her green, prim and proper chef-wardrobe. She was the only professional-looking entity there - however, the outside looked unique though. They acted put-off and not willing to serve you and after I insisted, they finally forced themselves to serve me. I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER THERE!! <-Why the "I'm too busy to serve you" routine??!!!
It was an egg breakfast that I ordered and it was OK, but the eggs were a bit runny, and the beans were those pinto beans you get from a can and the coffee was instant. <-Yeah, a lot of prep went in for that breakfast!
I WON'T go back there again! There are much better restaurants and cafes in that area with much, much better breakfast food - like: Organic Love, for example.
