Great little lunch stop on the way from Queenstown to Tekapo. Just off the highway, plenty of free parking. Two minutes walk from the big fruit sculpture. Outdoor seating with nice views. Great food including a novel white bait dish (see photo) and delicious vegetarian lunch (see photo). Good value, fast, friendly service. Perfect!P

The lady named Roy was rude when she took our order. My husband asked if they have fresh juice and she just pointed at the fridge without saying a word. Food was ok, the waffle taste like store bought and the egg yolk was not even runny when it should be.
Yummiest meal ever ! And the baked goods/treats were insanely delicious. The cafe was well serviced & well set up with a relaxing vibe. It’s probably my favourite eatery ever. Just beautiful

The food was ok, the staff were pleasant, nice except the owner / manager, a short white haired lady was rude. The day after xmas and asked if we could charge our ebike batteries which only needed 30min to charge 10% for the dunstan trail as we needed full battery as there was no shuttles left so a full day round trip and she wouldnt. The staff was so friendly and was already charging it for us and she unplugged it and told us it would cost her too much for her electrical bill / would overload the electrics?!?!? We spent at least $60 on food and drink, a lot of places have usb plugs etc etc like its already charging but she felt the need to unplug it and give it to us.
Also made us move from a table we were already seated at as apparently it was reserved… no one showed up at the apparent reserved time even 30min past “reserved time” The short white haired lady ruined what could be a very nice cafe, feel sorry for the friendly staff, they could do better for sure!!

I had the pleasure of visiting The Kitchen Cromwell in Cromwell, New Zealand and I have to say that it was worth the wait! Although I had to wait for almost an hour to get my food, the end result was more than worth it. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded all of my expectations. The flavors were well balanced and the presentation was beautiful. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that I was comfortable while I waited. I would highly recommend The Kitchen Cromwell to anyone looking for a delicious meal. The wait may be long, but the food is worth it.

Great little cafe. Fresh ingredients and a good variety of food options, also has all the staple coffee and tea lattes you'd expect to find at any cafe. The only reason I took off one star is because of their hours of operation. By 2:30pm, they've already got all their food put away and are serving only drinks, even though they "close" at 3:00. This is way too early! What if a local is strolling past at 4 or 5pm and feels like a coffee? You're missing out on a nice niche market of folks who like their coffee and a bite in the late afternoon. That being said, a nice place and we visit often.
