I want to support local businesses but I find it hard to do that when the business’ opening hours are confusing.
The sign outside their door says they open at 7 AM but their facebook page says they’re open at 9 AM. In practice, the coffee shop was not open at 9 AM on the dot today. It’s probably due to the holidays but I’m used to coffee shops being open at 6-7 AM during the weekday.
It would have been nice to see more consistent messaging regarding their hours of business but I hope they’re working on it. A new business is hard to operate after all. I’ve contemplated on giving this place lesser stars but I want to give new and small businesses a benefit of the doubt.
Coffee: well… it’s coffee. Their coffee is better than instant coffee and marginally better than coffee from McDonalds but not by much. It’s a bit of a generic taste. I appreciate that that the Caffe Latte wasn’t full of sugar.
Ambiance: it’s great. There was a lot of thought to make this place as retro as possible and as instagrammable as possible.
Price: not bad. The dunkin a few blocks away has similar pricing and the quality of their coffee isn’t too far away. I just wish their coffee was worlds away better from competition in the area.
Last words: I’d recommend going and trying it out. I think if they can nail down their coffee, they’ll be able to bring people back. Otherwise, it’ll just be a cute instagram spot you’d wanna try once because coffee elsewhere tastes the same.
