We enjoyed a lovely seafood dinner at the Craypot Kitchen recently. We shared the large mussels in white wine as well as a half crayfish dinner. The seafood was fresh and flavorful. We finished with the tiramisu which had delicate chocolate and coffee flavors. The service was quite good they were friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for a well prepared seafood meal with great service. this is your place. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

ordered patter for two at $199 to try on the crayfish, was disappointed because the flesh was soft. Also, we had to self service for the tap water and coffee, not sure it’s a bar or cafe Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Fantastic! We thought we might be too late to be accommodated, as their last booking was at 7.30pm on a Monday, but they let us in at 7.45. My boyfriend had the half crayfish with chips and salad (85 NZD) and I had the fish of the day (monkfish) in an almond crumb with a white wine butter sauce with mash and veg (34 NZD). Or you could have fish, beer-battered chips and salad for 32 NZD. Fish of the day was so tasty and fresh! Then for dessert (15NZD) my boyfriend had chocolate brownies and berries and I had the coconut and citrus Panna cotta. Perfect! Friendly quick service too, despite it being full until closing time when we were there. Try it, you won't be disappointed! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

Had a great "faulty towers" type night here. Only went as couldn't get in to Zephyr and the waitress there recommended the Craypot. Faulty start,,,the greeting guy was also the food and drink delivery guy but no table service. That was ok! Lined up and Mum, the service boss, took our drinks order, writing it all out longhand etc etc etc and we sat. Wrong wine came ! took it to the counter...mum says whoops we're all out of pinot noirs !!!! mmm about to leave restaurant and suddenly a way better bottle is found and...it's very good. Order food....food comes but wrong order for wife ??? whoops...sorry. She says she will have it anyway and....it was also very good (fish tacos) simple but fresh and tasty. And the Seafood chowder was great ! The owner, waiter, maitreD...Tumi was a delight. Has recently taken over restaurant from his mum...service boss and...the chef is his wife ! So all in all it was an enjoyable evening... Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–60 Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4

Not very good overall. We had the platter for two ($199) which was not worth the price as the crayfish was small and the battered fish had too much dough and was soggy. The steak sandwich was also overcooked and over sauced with mushy bread. Not sure if we just had a bad experience or if the location is overrated. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
