I'm a harsh critic so to score a ☆☆☆☆ star from me has to be good.
We visited The Crafty Local for lunch as we missed the brunch cut off.
I ordered the salmon baked potato and it was great. Only $15 and the best I've had in ages. Also the calamari and polenta chips. Did not disappoint. The staff are friendly and efficient. Enjoyed our glass of vino.
The decor is great. The toilets are super clean. Liked the wall murals up to them.

Very pleased we now have a ‘local’ for us folks here in a Paihia ! Probably the only restaurant in Paihia that FILTER their drinking water - now that’s worth going back for :) The food is great , very affordable and a feel of home cooking . The lamb shank / rib combo was excellent . Great beer selection and some interesting wines on the menu . The staff are commendable , friendly and professional . Will definitely become a regular . Thank you all for a pleasant experience.

We came for breakfast - Family of 4. It has been the food we have had on our trip. The service was 10/10, food came exactly how we ordered and was the best quality food- ordered pancakes, big breakfast and bacon butty.
The decor looks brand new and is very clean. There is a kids corner with its own tv too. Could not fault anything- thank you again from a Very full and satisfied family.

Great Craft beer bar, lots of different New Zealand beers on offer including some really nice and unique cans in the fridge as well as many taps. Food is really tasty and all cooked from fresh! Try the Nachos- my personally favourite. Chilled atmosphere too 😊 keep up the great work guys!

We were very impressed with the presentation, size and flavour of our food. The atmosphere was most pleasant and the staff were very accommodating. One of us dining had a gluten free requirement and this was not a problem to cater for. From our experience this is a must try restaurant and we wish them well.

Having been 3 times and disappointed the last twice I doubt we will return .
Firat visit was great, no faults at all.
Second visit we ordered the fish and chips , looked lovingly forward to the mushy peas only to be disappointed, kiwi take on mushy peas .
This last visit saw the pasta dish Luke warm , not meal checked until I'd finished ( usually I'd point this out but having missed lunch I was starving ) . Husband had fish and chips but no change to the mushy peas , along with mash and gravy side , only to find a hair in the mash . Look up to see no-one in kitchen with hair covered . The saving grace was the lovely waiter who cleared the plates , he handled the complaint very professionally and on point . Related to kitchen and some staff then put on hair nets .
Paid the bill , charged for all we ordered .

The drinks were amazing and the food was great! The staff was very friendly, especially the bar manager on the night. She was fun and chatty and took the time to answer our questions about the drinks on offer. We enjoyed the place so much we kept returning night after night. Highly recommended!!

Wow what can I say! The pork and watercress bangers and mash were amazing! Reminded me of home. The owner is super friendly and made us feel very welcome. Will be coming back for sure
