Ate breakfast here during our stay at the 1810 hotel. Although the menu is good and the food portions are very good their consistency was not. The first day the bread we got was a bit dry although the remaining of the food was delicious. On the second day the bread was good but unfortunately the main dish (I got the enmoladas) was cold and the tortilla was stale and so hard to eat. It's as if they don't use fresh tortillas or bread. Besides this the service was excellent, the location inside the patio of the hotel is beautiful. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The atmosphere in the restaurant is a little impersonal if you are not seated close to the fireplace water feature. But the textures of the old stonework in contrast to the modern design elements are visually exciting. Service was attentive if a little befuddled and unrefined at times. Our menu choices scored a mixed review. The scallop ceviche presentation was gorgeous and the tangy sauce was promising, but alas the scallops were tough and chewy. (I returned the plate after a couple bites and was still charged full price.) The meat pizza was delicious although we've had great brick oven pizza for less than half the price elsewhere.) The lemon chicken entre was melt-in-your-mouth delicious with just the right seasoning. But the gorgeously plated ribs with a potent bbq sauce over a sweet corn base were dry and unremarkable. Dessert would be the reason to return. And the Lágrimas Sauvignon blanc was worth the hefty-for-San Miguel price. Although intriguing, for the value there are other restaurants that are a better bang for your evening buck out.

The evening was hot and oppressive, the air thick with the scent of fried food and desperation. I arrived at the restaurant, my hopes high, eager to indulge in the finest cuisine the town had to offer. But alas, what I encountered was a veritable feast of disappointment. The menu was a labyrinth of confusion, a mishmash of culinary styles that left me dizzy with indecision. The dishes themselves were a paltry attempt at sophistication, a desperate bid to appear more than what they truly were: overpriced and underwhelming. I ordered the pork shoulder, hoping for a moment of respite in this culinary wasteland. But what arrived at my table was a travesty of meat, tough and chewy, devoid of flavor and drowning in a sea of sickly sweet sauce. The service was no better. The waitstaff were surly and disinterested, their lackadaisical attitude a clear indication that they had long ago given up on the notion of providing a pleasurable dining experience. As I sat there, staring down at my pitiful plate, I couldn't help but think of the words of William Faulkner: "The past is never dead. It's not even past." This meal was a reminder that the sins of the past can linger, haunting us in the present, a constant reminder of our failures. In the end, I left that restaurant with a sense of profound disappointment, my appetite unsatisfied and my spirit broken. Faulkner once wrote that "you cannot swim for new horizons until you have courage to lose sight of the shore." But in this case, I found myself swimming in circles, unable to find my way to a better meal. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100–200
I really wanted to like this place. Drinks were delicious. Service was really poor. No menus (not even the ubiquitous QR code) were brought to the table. I had to get up and let the server know we wanted to order food. A dish that we did not order was brought to our table (wrong table). We ordered the “Tomato Salad”. They brought the wrong salad. When it finally did arrive, it was long on greens, but short on everything else, including tomatoes. It also included figs, which weren’t mentioned on the menu. Complaints to the manager were met with “Thank you”. For the price, this place needs to get their act together.
