The best and most unique café we have been to on our NZ road trip. The food was outstanding, the interior is beautiful and cozy, the beverages were all very good and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. What a beautiful place. I’d absolutely come back to this even if I had to make a detour. Only thing I personally would have preferred is the hotcake to be a little less sweet. My mother liked it this way though, so just my preference. It’s super filling so don’t underestimate it. Meal type Brunch Price per person $70–80 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Absolutely stunning venue, decor, atmosphere, coffee & food! There are lots of seating options and gorgeous& very healthy live plants everywhere. I had a small mocha which was strong and delicious accompanied by the super charged breakfast which had an assortment of scrumptious fresh flavours! I left very full and satisfied & works definitely return! Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Visited in November 2022. Fantastic friendly team at the cafe, with a buzzy, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The on site baked Tees Street Cafe chicken and vegetable pie was a candidate for one of the best pies I have ever had, simply amazing with chunks of moist, tender chicken and very fresh tasting veges, in a creamy, semi-caramelised onion white roux filling. Pastry well-cooked, buttery and flaky, while still firm. The pie was served at just the right eating temperature freshly crisped from the oven, and came with decidedly good (and also very fresh-tasting) home-made tomato relish. 9.5/10 (maybe a slight touch of chili needed in the tom relish for focus, but that is only a personal preference). The chicken, kimchi and grilled cheese toastie at Tees Street was also amazing - my first and completely delicious introduction to the grilled cheese kimchi toasted sandwich combo. I've had quite a few since, but this was hard to beat! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The coffee was good, the food was not. The bacon was uncuttable, like leather, inedible. The eggs were the size of quails eggs - one mouthful tiny and the bread has been brushed with a herb butter that tasted unpleasantly floral. It is a lovely space and they were very busy, maybe we just got the wrong day? Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Nice cafe and attentive staff but unfortunately food really let this place down. Raw eggs all around, I sent mine back to be cooked a bit more. Meals were cold and very underwhelming. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Lovely building and set up. Coffee was sensational. Unfortunately that's where it ends. Cold plate and food, eggs were almost uncooked. We were a table of 4 and all disappointed. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

So so. Super-charged breakfast had some tasty elements but the poached eggs were solid and cold and the plate was cold; saving grave was the hashcake which was extra but delicious. My partner had slow cooked lamb which took an age to arrive *no apology for the mistake and slammed down on table) and was a VERY small portion for the price but very tasty. Coffees were delicious as was the shortcake. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
