Recommend this place! Cosy place with tasty food and friendly staff. Price varies, but it's about 10eu per person, which is adequate compared to city prices. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

my experience is good. the sushi tastes good,employees are kind. overall a very good place to eat your lunch. only sometimes sushi falls apart(when not dipped into soy sauce). 5/5

The sushi itself were good, however the service and the ambiance were terrible! Unpleasant welcoming, the staff was watching tv, so we where forced to watch russian soap opera while dinning. The ambiance was sad, and cold. Left very disappointed lookin for other places to lift up our mood. I guess it would be alright for take away, as long as you don't need to spend there more than 5min.

It seems that since Sushi Fighter is the only sushi restaurant in Ventspils (at least at the time of writing this, and for the foreseeable future) they also run the racket on the quality of the type of foods. You don't exactly have to get even that far to have the whole experience take a nosedive in to the abyss, walking in through the door will do that already just fine. So, there'll be a somewhat exhaustive list of what's exactly wrong with this place. 1. The layout is small, cramped and, to an extent, not very clean looking to begin with. 2. The absolutely horrible Russian pop soundtrack blasts with a ear-breaking decibel level non stop, and often they will have a second soundtrack of more God awful Russian pop music from a TV which is randomly hanged on the wall for the employees fun to fill the space with maddening cacophony. 3. The menu is too large, and not very flexible. A special mention to the "chef", who apparently is unable to make sushi without one of any of the specified ingredients on the ugly-as-communism wall sized sushi chart. Tons of choices, which are mostly only VERY *slight* variations of each others makes practically the whole menu pointless. 4. ENOUGH. WITH. THE. CHEESE. I would appreciate if my rice, salmon, cucumber and whatever else I might have wanted to taste in my sushi did not all taste like CHEESE! 5. *ANECDOTAL* My partner mentioned about the taste of shrimps in her soup and suffered food poisoning later that evening. Coincidence? Possible. Sushi fighter? Very likely, all things considered. 6. The staff seems to have a odd need to give looks to their customers. Every single time I have been there (4-6 times.) Does not make me feel.very welcome. 7.The consistency of certain foods is less than ideal and hair loss inducingly frustrating at worst. A special mention goes to a sweet sushi with strawberry jam and inside. The freaking things just fell apart like the Soviet union when trying to pick up and eating was as messy as Tiananmen square. All in all, if you are lucky, the sushi wont taste quite as foul as pre made picks from the local Rimi market, but you will do better to spend some quality time with your partner/friends/dog and cook your own.
