Filipino brekkie (tapsilog and longsilog) was so good! Coffee was perfect! Great customer service. We popped in earlier to avoid tourists rushing in for brunch/lunch. We will come back when in the West Coast😊 Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Our first visit late one afternoon wasn’t great timing and there was very limited choices of food. But we gave them a second chance and went for breakfast. My coffee was exceptionally good, like rocket fuel! So good I ordered a second. The food was average. The big breakfast was ok but we couldn’t work out why it wasn’t on a larger plate! Trying to eat it the food kept slipping off. My Favourite Husband is an untidy eater at best, this just meant it was carnage. The eggs Benedict was ok but the eggs were slightly over cooked. Very friendly staff, we’d return.

Ordered a Fish and chips for 26 NZD at 12:19pm and we waited and waited for almost 30 minutes! We needed to get back on a tour bus leaving at 1pm and kept reminding them twice until we ran out of time and were literally standing up waiting for a takeout box (we couldn’t dine in anymore). And then to rub salt into the wound, when we opened up the takeaway box on the bus, it turned out to be 2 skimpy pieces of cod and no fork! Just a spoon and knife. Really disappointed on the horrible service, small blue cod portions for the higher price. The flat white / coffee drinks were good. But that nowhere makes up for the 30 minute wait for a small portioned fish and chips that almost caused us to miss our bus. Nightmare experience and egregiously bad service. Strong recommend AVOIDING this place. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

We had breakfast here during our short stay in Hokitika. I got the French toast and my wife got the Eggs Benedict. My wife loved the Eggs Benedict, it was the best she’d ever had (she also loved the hot chocolate). Now to the French toast which I can speak to. It was like a short trip to heaven and back!! They were absolutely delicious!! I would almost go as far as to plan a trip to Hokitika just for the French toast! Well done Stone Oven Bakery Cafe.. Well done! Not to mention the owner was very friendly and accommodating to us and our little one. Great place and staff! Came here for breakfast while staying in Hotikita. We got the eggs Benedict and waffles - both delicious! The iced vanilla latte was delicious as well. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20
Didn’t take a picture, but my partner had a steak and cheese pie, which was amazing. I had a chicken schnitzel and it was great, real chicken (not a supermarket fillet) with salad and chips (chips also didn’t taste bought). Looks like a simple cafe from the outside. But the whole time we were there it was kind of full, people getting in and put. Staff were also great. 😊 Definitely recommend.
