Great hospitality, awesome breakfasts and coffee made with love! Can’t complain here. We wanted a tasty breakfast and a good start to our day. Joe was very friendly and all the staff were warm and happy.

A quaint cafe located in Haast (population 54) on the remote west coast of NZ. Very friendly staff providing excellent service offering basic but tasty light lunch. Felt like I was in the 1960s. Very relaxed and easy going.

I think the photo says it all. $5 for 2 tablespoons of ice cream is ridiculous. Go down the road to the petrol station and get yourself a decent ice cream for a reasonable price.
The staff were friendly enough. Pies looked good, but again, $8.50 was a bit steep for a pie. Fine, if you're creaming it off tourists but traveling New Zealanders beware.

Great staff, the young man on the register was absolutely outstanding!! The coffe was amazing and very quick. The venison pie was outstanding, a real home made pie for a decent price!!!! Can’t recommend enough

Stopped here to order some lunch on our drive from Wanaka to Franz Josef. Ordered fish and chips which was over priced and absolutely awful. The batter was so thick it wasn't cooked fully in places, there was hardly any actual fish once you peeled the batter off (it was not edible). The chips were covered in Pepper so our daughter wouldn't even eat them. All the oil made us feel so sick for the rest of the day. Options are limited as to where you can stop - but don't stop here!

Had the Tomato soup, steak & blue cheese pie and hot chocolate’s. Close to the best tasting food of our trip. All the food is homemade
They were extremely busy but the food and drinks were served faster than I could have ever expected.

We arrived just as the place closed but the staff let us in anyway
Very warm welcoming, ordered the chicken panini and fries
The dishes were delicious and the fries were fresh and came as a big portion. The coffee we ordered was lovely and the staff were generous all throughout our visit.
Would really recommend if you have the chance!!

The kid on the front is very loud and rude, it's not very relaxing with the constant shouting and screaming whilst people are trying to eat and drink there coffee, also I love chase and status as much as the next guy but pretty sure most of your elderly customers don't want to listen to rave music at 7am with their morning coffee.
The coffee also wasn't too great, I ordered poached eggs which tasted very heavily of vinegar.

Best muffin I've ever had. And I am a 34 year old man with many muffins under my belt. Super soft and moist in the middle but with a bit of a tough crunchy exterior... just like me.
Maybe don't visit if you don't like Amy Winehouse though, when we were there they were playing 'Back To Black" back to back. Seriously. We listened to it 4 or 5 times while we hoovered up muffin crumbs.
