What a delight this place is - a haven by the river and our catered lunch was so lovely. The food was fresh and tasty, staff were wonderful. The picnic spot is perfect for a stop on the bike trail. We were a large group of cyclists. There are still some options for food & drink if you havent preordered but I recommend to contact them to arrange as you won't be disappointed. Fantastic stop on the trail for refreshments. Today our group enjoyed homemade lemonade, fabulous scones with real cream, toasted sandwichs and carrot cake. Great atmosphere dining by the nearby stream. Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Cycled the trail to find some of the very best home cooked fare I have ever tasted. An oasis in the middle of the country ride. Fabulous club sandwiches, scones (cream & jam), muffins, apple shortcake, coffee tea and home made lemonade, etc. More than ample for the 26 hungry riders in our group, Served under the trees in a forest glade by three delightful ladies, two of whom refused to accept that $10 each wasn't too cheap. Ladies, we all agreed.... that luncheon was TOO CHEAP. You deserve a much better return for your efforts. Hope that you get heaps of diners over the summer months. Best wishes. John. The small cafe here was lovely, the food was homemade and delicious, the woman who took our order was awesome, it definitely was so nice to sit by the river and enjoy the food and lemonade after a long hike from Okaihau end of the cycle trail.
Really good place the river that runs by is so calming for $10.per night itis well worth to stay a couple of days or more. They even have accommodation you can rent honestly well worth the trip
Great place to stop for coffee and snacks on the Twin Coast Cycle Trail. Carrot cake is delicious!
A lovely spot to stop for lunch along the trail. Scone with jam highly recommended!
