AMAZING FOOD. I had the meat option and it was very good. I also had the tiramisu which was absolutely amazing tasted delicious. I went in a group with my friends aged 17-18. The chef and all staff were lovely checked up on us throughout the night. Was very kind and understanding and catered for my dairy free friend. This restaurant is very tricky. They tried to overcharge us on every way. First they gave us 3 pieces of bread without telling us it was not free and charged us 15 dollars at the end. They gave us some Parmesan cheese on the pasta and charged us 12 dollars when checkout. We ordered adult menu, but they gave us kids meal, which made us to order 2 pasta more because the food was not enough for 2 little girls. 1 adult and 2 little girls ordered 3 pasta, which cost us $134. Lovely service, simple but nice environment and more importantly, the pasta is amazing. I had the prawn one with chilli butter. Pasta itself got good texture which you can tell when you start chewing and the prawn was amazingly well seasoned. Will come back to explore more of the menu. Thanks for the service again guys!

The most amazing vibrant pasta restaurant I have been to in NZ. The food is beyond excellent, service is excellent. It's a vibrant little restaurant that is a must to go to. Food is prepared in an open kitchen - it's worth visiting just to see how professional the chef & staff are. I will definitely eat hear whenever I visit Hastings.

I was really looking forward to trying this place as it was suggested as an option by one of our team members. So I made a booking for our end of year staff/christmas dinner, as none of our team had been here before. We were looked after most of the evening by a cold staff member. Questions we had asked about food and the drinks menu/reccomdations felt like an inconvenience. His service was rude, replies snarky and we felt unwelcome to the point we all honestly wanted to just leave and have pizza at bambina next door instead (had we not made a booking). Our whole table felt the same about the service we recieved from this particular gentleman with longer hair. Coming from the hospitality sector ourselves, the service from this particular gentleman was dissapointing & a big let down for our evening. We ordered almost everything on entrees, mains and sides menu everything was absolutely divine- the chefs are very talented. Great pasta. Had 3 different mains. All tasty. Service was friendly. Waitress knew her dishes and could describe them to us very well. Will definitely be going back.
