Savoury was rock solid burnt and dry. Refunded. Great work. Bought a chilli pie and assumed it was chilli beef (like every other bakery) turns out it was vegetarian and no label anywhere. Charged me $6 for a couple spoons of canned chilli beans in a pie and said “oh that’s unfortunate” when I said that was misleading and I don’t want just a vegetarian pie. Price per person $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Very good quality food and a great variety! But the food is just too expensive for my liking now, there are slightly cheaper cafes in town that offer better options
Customer Service, WHAT customer service.. Lady serving Rude & Abrupt. No VEGAN options at all.. STORE not very clean either... The lady serving also doesn't care as she is not the boss... What even is that attitude???

Visited Savages on Monday. I bought 2 x sandwiches and 2 x old style long doughnuts. The sandwiches were $8 each and the doughnuts were $4-50 each. Total $25. I asked the lady if $25 was correct and she said yes and tried to explain that ingredients had gone up. Those prices are too hot for me so I won't be back.
Savages Bakery I highly recommend!!!! They go that extra mile to help & I cannot be thankful enough. Tim you're amazing I appreciated everything you did for me today, there isn't enough words & your team have been so fabulous too. Thank you all so much. - Brony from Wellington.
Unacceptable Club Sandwiches: Last week my mother ordered two dozen club sandwiches costing $46.00. She had placed a similar order 17 months ago to the previous owners - then and now to serve with gourmet canapes at a special occasion. The previous ones were delicious, beautifully presented crustless rectangles made using brown and white bread and temptingly filled - something you would be proud to serve. Saturday's sandwiches, collected at the appointed time of midday, were soggy, crusted triangles, of varying sizes, and very poorly presented, some falling apart - $46.00 down the drain as they could not be used.

I have always heard good things about savages so I have recently been in a few times to ask about their vegan options or if they would simply consider vegan food in the near future but sadly I just get looked at like trash for even asking. Atmosphere feels unwelcoming and I never get greeted with a smile. I really think it would be a good thing for all bakeries to have vegan options as there are so many of us but the response I got today from simply enquiring was very rude and I concluded that they are not deserving of my money so I’ll be spending it elsewhere. Such a shame.

Savages, what have the new owners done, changed recipes , the sausage rolls used to be good, now they're only good for heartburn and nowhere as nice as they used to be, extra greasy and extra pastry, and what's with the red colour? extra paprika? if it wasn't broken it shouldn't have been fixed.

Have visited your bakery since I was very young and loved it but my daughter went to Wanganui East branch on Saturday around lunchtime and got3 pies and a sausage roll for our lunch at the Petanque tournament. They ate the pies straight away and my grandson who had a mince and cheese pie felt ill soon after and ended up vomiting. My daughter and husband who ate the mince pies did not enjoy them at all and felt a bit off as well. They didn’t look as fresh as they usually do. Done usually complain but thought you would want to know.

It’s my birthday and I fancied a chocolate eclair for a treat. I came and bought two meat pies and the eclair. Pies were yum, full of meat and very tasty BUT I’m soooo disappointed with the eclair. It was so stiff and brown it was like eating cardboard! I thought the cream might have softened the inside but NO - not at all like the ones that I used to make, which were so soft and scrumptious!
