Very good fresh fish and chips cooked really well, crisp on the outside fluffy in the middle. This is a little take away fish and chip shop if your not looking you could easily miss it, it’s a hole in the wall place. The type of fish changes depending on what’s fresh and the season, but you’ve usually got a couple of choices. If your a fish and chip connoisseur, you’ll love this. Once you have your fish and chips it’s only a 30second stroll to the waterfront to enjoy.

Actually we stumbled across this small outlet by chance and we’re positively surprised by the great quality of the fish & chips and salt and pepper squid - really well done and one of the best fish and chips we ever had - and we had many not only in NZ but on our global tour.
So grab some great food and sit on the benches or on the beach just steps away and enjoy life.
And cool: they have some background info on the fish they serve that day, too - can’t understand why people order burger instead but hey, life’s choices ..
The location was quite pokey that if you walk pass you could possibly miss it.
We ordered 4 burgers and $50 Family pack which was quite nice.
The kids enjoyed their egg burgers but the Dirty Burger had onion rings in which weren't listed on the menu.

Scoop Chips
Russell Fish company serves up amazing fish and chips. They are in the top of my rankings. I have enjoyed similar meals in the UK, Ireland, East Coast of Canada and places in between. Their tartare sauce, along with the fried oysters are something to enjoy and for them to be proud to serve.

Hole in the wall fish and chips shack. Different fresh fish options that tasted well. Good and fluffy chips. Quite big portions as well, and very good size for the price.
There are a few benches around the tree planters in front and more just a short walk away at the beach if you'd like to sit somewhere.

Came off the ship, took the ferry to Russell and found this great fish shop - the people who work here are fantastic, the fish burger and side of chips were brilliant ( thanks for the mayo )
A must, all who venture here - stir them about the football great humour - they’ll tell you who won the grand final

A little hole in the wall with absolutely lovely team members and super fresh food. I’m only just starting to eat fish again and I loved how easy they made it to consider options. It was absolutely delicious. We went with the safe snapper option but it was so great we enjoyed it better without dousing it in tartare sauce (which is what I usually do to mask the flavour of the fish - I didn’t need to here!). Chips were good and well seasoned. Honestly the team will make you smile!

...at this point in my life it pains me to say negative things about a small business, since I have owned a family business for many years. I ordered two separate orders of fish and chips. One order had a tiny piece the other was medium size over undercooked, soggy fries. I had fish and chips at the Butter Fish restaurant the day before that were outstanding, including a delicious salad served at a table facing the water for about the same money. GOT IT!

The best Hawaiian burger. Hands down. Fish and chips were ahmazing. So ahmazing that we had it sat and sun cause I couldn't stop thinking about the burger 🤌🏽... Service was ahmazing very helpful and cheerful which is lovely to see. Well done guys keep up the fantastic work..
