My girls and I ate here last night and I had to write a review. We had an amazing dinner, delicious with great service and live music. We ordered the Brie for the table (amazing), shared the pear salad (refreshing) and i had the lamb chops and lava cake for dessert. We finished everything on our plates!! They served a fresh bread to start which was warm with 3 different flavored butters, Also delicious!! We loved it. Afterwards we walked in the square, danced to live music and took pictures. This place is beyond amazing! There were so many vegetarian options (they have a dedicated menu for veg and gluten free). The food was incredible, the drinks were delicious (highly recommend the passion fruit and the strawberry margaritas), and the service and atmosphere couldn't have been better. My friend and I had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago. The ambience is lovely and inviting, it has the feel of a hacienda owned by a patron of the arts who's adorned the spaces with an impressive collection of culturally significant paintings and sculptures, hence, feels as though you're dining in a gallery. Situated along the Cuale river, close enough to the Malecon and the beach but far enough to avoid the noise and crowds. The service is performed by friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff. We both enjoyed our food, our orders were excellently prepared, the presentation was lovely and felt the price was more than fair. This was our last meal in Mexico, and I couldn't be any happier that we chose to go to River Cafe before leaving. It was some of the absolute best service we experienced in Mexico, and the food was wonderful. The toast and salsa that comes with the meal blew my mind. There is also a basket of pastries, sold at a very low price, that someone walks around with before the actual meal, and I wish that our appetite had been big enough to try one! But even as much as I filled up on the toast and salsa, my chicken and pumpkin flower crepe was so good that I completely cleaned my plate. The green juice was a nice addition to my meal. And the environment can't be beat. It's all open-air with tons of fans to keep things nice & cool, and there is a stunning view of the river. The restaurant itself was beautiful, too. Gorgeous open air pavilion restaurant. Visited for the Saturday brunch. Loved the harp player. Service was a bit slow and they seemed to be training some new servers. Food was good, except they added mayo on the egg sandwich despite no mention of it on the menu (yuck!). Thankfully they replaced it with no issue. Shrimp and pineapple omelet was delicious. The drinks were just right. It was the end of the dry season, so the river was mostly dry, but the decor made up for it. We found this place on a whim and loved it. Dining isn't just about the food, but it's a crucial part. We genuinely enjoyed everything. The decor was gallery worthy, and they had a very talented duet playing great singer/songwriter covers at the perfect volume for a restaurant. The staff was Michelin star skilled. I believe we met the owner on our way out, and she was very polite and kind. Located off the Malecon, it's nestled next to the river and shaded by a canopy of tropical plants. Nice Italian food, it is a bit on the expensive side. But love it overall. They have a separate vegetarian menu! We came here twice and had Truffle Risotto 4/5 Baked Brie 4/5 Asparagus Soup 5/5 Quesadilla Platter 5/5 Everything was very fresh and lovely. Ambience is also nice and is close to the river.

This place was really awesome. It was quite hot when we were there so the waiter was kind enough to turn the fan on for us. The waiters were extreme professional and on the spot with food and drinks. The waiter who cashed us out showed exceptional patience towards someone in our group who had to much to drink and was making it difficult to pay the bill. My apologies for that kind sir! The food was extreme tasty and the menu had a variety of choices of cheaper dinners up to more expensive items. The drinks they made were 2 thumbs up. I would def go to this place.
