Rio restaurant provided an outstanding dining experience with amazing food. Led by a family of exceptionally kind people, the warm atmosphere elevated our overall enjoyment. A very small family owned restaurant, within a nice secluded and very local area. The nice lady showed us the way to the restaurant and warmed our hearts with how nice she was and how good and heartfelt her food was cooked. A humble and hard working woman who was handing out flyers at the beach, showing us the way to her restaurant and then cooking the food herself! Definitely worth a visit if you’re up for good food, and a quiet atmosphere for a change and very nice women who were making me feel so welcome! If you are in Tangalle you have to visit this cute place. You will leave with full tummy and big smile. Hidden gem on the culinary map of Tangalle. The small family owned restaurant is off the main avenue and can serve up to 10 people, but it's worth to visit. If you are in Tangalle you should definitely eat at the Rio Family Restaurant! The restaurant is a bit out of the way but the short walk there is definitely worth it. You get authentic, lovingly prepared food at very good prices. I ate the best curries during my Sri Lanka Trip there, so it is a huge recommendation!
