We have had an amazing vacation here in Mahahaul. Of all the places we have dined locally this was my least favorite restaurant. The ambiance was extremely nice. The food was just ok Italian food and nothing to write home about. Of the three entrées we order the Lasagna and the Fettuccine with Chicken were probably 2 star and the Risotto was 4 stars. Compared to other local eateries they are over priced and the service was just good as well. 3 stars overall.

Is a good restaurant to have breakfast.
We ordered chilaquiles and they were fine
The arrachera was a little too burned but we talked to the waiter and kindly change the meat.

We had lunch here because of the vegetarian options. Rice and burrito were tasty, but the vegetarian rice is in our opinion way too expensive. Also it is really ridiculous and not very appropriate that they don’t have vegetarian and/or vegan dishes at dinner time (they switch the menu) besides one pasta dish which is even not on the real menu.

Had a great lunch! We had mixed ceviche and chicken supreme nachos. Both were huge portions and tasted awesome! We had a great time and we will return.

Great spot for a cruise stop. As of today, the all inclusive rate is $85 per guest includes non and alcohol drinks and one meal. For day pay is $20 with all else pay as you go. The service is excellent and very courteous. I've seen some very disrespectful guests, so please be courteous. The beach is clear and clean. There is a fisherman that goes with you (for a fee) to fish and the restaurant will prepare the fish for a nominal fee. You can get a taxi/cab immediately outside this day resort.
One hint, stick to your departure time and make sure to have a buffer time getting back to your cruise ship.
Cheers

Love this place. They have the best cappuccino in town, or at least the strongest! Took a star off as my last two meals have been cooked with grease that was on its last leg which makes the food taste like old grease which I hate. However they have served me enough great breakfasts in the past to give them 4 stars as i a sure they will correct the oil issue shortly as well. This place is also gorgeous at night. Great views, awesome breezes, right on the Malecon "boardwalk" and in the middle of everything. Highly recommend at minimum checking out a breakfast here as well as a night cap. This is a older crowd, with a relaxed upscale feel. Can sit on the patio in a bikini with a coverup, or a suit and feel at home, if that makes sense.
The more refined experience from the bunch that's Mahahual beach front with prices to reflect.
Main courses start from around 250 pesos but worth it for the quality of the food and service.
Next one up in terms of fine dining would be Hay Hu which is just over 30 minutes drive away from the mess that the cruise ships throw up on shore. No offense to those visiting from a cruise ship.
