Service is slow. Might be that it is a Sunday and the local rhythm is not as speedy as I'm used to, so take it with a grain or salt. Update: yeah it is slow, be patient, as it will take 10 minutes between dishes. Food is good, ambience is calm and nice. It’s just a fancy version of KFC. Extremely extremely small portions. Bad presentation and tastes are extremely bad. I ordered the pulled chicken fries and I got a bowl of fries with one chicken wing or less chicken meat with some sauce that was not even enough for the whole bowl. The BBQ wings were super market shelf wings with no taste & some spurts of bbq sauce. The kids chicken strips are exactly sane as McDonalds or KFC but double the price. Then we had spicy crispy chicken which was sweat but I keep looking for spice & couldn’t find any. In the whole bowl worth 17 euros there were 4 small pieces of chicken rest vegetables sautéed n glazed in sugar. So I would maybe just go to McDonald’s or some other burger joint where I can get burger in half the price. The service was just ok, asked for sauce hot it half way through the meal. We made a reservation one day before, drove all the way from Rotterdam to the restaurant with 7 people, and been told that because they wrote down 2 people instead of 7, there have no place for us and they can't do much but let us go. I never had a bad experience like this ever before and the way they handling their own mistake is not only incompetent but also rude!

Seems to have changed quite a lot since visiting early this year. The menu has changed to a more American diner style from what was offered before. From what I could tell very little of the food is made on site. I’m assuming deskilling due to the lack of chefs at the moment. But overall a nice experience. And a great location for a sunny day by the lake 😎 Service Dine in Meal type Lunch

I ate here for the first time, And the employees where very professional in there way of serving. I didn’t like the time i had to wait for my food, in other hand it was saturday so i get it. The reason im write this review is because of the sunset, that i did not suspect at first place. I really liked it, as u can see it was breathtaking. We had a good spot to eat, the sunset was so good. Im not even talking about the food yet I mean al with al it was oke but it would have been better if there was a bit more ingredients in there. I really enjoyed eating at the beren. I do recommend it if u go for the sunset.

I went there for brunch. Nice Environment, food was a little above average but I would say pricey for quality. Also average service, not consistence in serving dishes. If you like the lake view it worth it.

We had a bad experience in this restaurant. We ordered three easy meals for lunch (sanwiches, salad and an omelette). It took them one hour and 20 minutes to bring it! The place was just moderately busy, we couldn't believe how long it took. And when they finally brought the food, we found out they brought the incorrect order for one of us. The food itself was disappointing as well, I ordered a "complete lunch", consisting of a soup a three sandwiches, but I got a tiny espresso cup of soup and three slices of bread (pictured). I don't know if this is normal Dutch lunch, but definitely disappointing for me.
