We bought paling fillets and a whole mackerel - it was absolutely fantastic! The paling was delicious and the mackerel was succulent and tasty. We'll definitely be back!

Yummy smoked eels sandwiche!
There are so many choices of different sizes of smoked eels and other seafood to take away as well.
It is also a great place for a cup of coffee or just having a nice cold beer.
And for the view... Ohhh la lar!

A bit of a locals’ gem famed for its smoked eel sandwiches (€4.50) which you can enjoy next to the water. Smoked salmon was also pretty good as were the various salads - eel, mackerel, “crab”. Very accomodating even to tourists!

Great location, photos taken from their benches on the riverside. But I agree with others that the amount of paling you get in the roll is quite small. I was mistaken that paling with salad wasn’t green vegetable leaves but a sauce. I will visit again but will hopefully be able to explain that I want fish without the roll.
Update to reply to the owner=I’ve checked and it was definitely your establishment and I’m sure I saw it written on a small chalk board by the till “Paling with salad”.

Friendly people, nice soft buns and tasty smoked eel and salmon. You can also get packaged frozen eel, salmon and mackerel that are smoked in-house. A warm broodje cost €4.5 and 300g of smoked salmon was €8. It would have been better if there were more eels in the bun.

My first taste for Dutch "Paling" smoky eel. You can smell the smoky in the air at the resturant. Paling it's so tasted with great fish oil and texture so soft even 2 years old baby boy love it. It's open 30 years as family business, young successor is polite with good skill to deal with Paling. 👍

Smoked eel is €18 per 500g, very tasty, in a traditional setting - tourist or local: a place to go to at least once. Staff is also really friendly and helpful! You can get your smoked eel vacuum packed at no extra costm.
