Breakfast Buffet was delicious . A huge assortment in both Continental and Cooked .. I Loved the yogurt jars . Coffee Espresso/Hot Chocolate machine not the best , would prefer Barista fresh made or even a filter coffee that had taste. My Sons' said the Hot Chocolate was below average .. Getting the option to have poached or fried eggs was nice instead of just the scrambled eggs in the bainmarie. Lovely friendly Staff, and a perfect view of Nelson Cathedral and Gardens area . Very good food and a decent wine list. The service is what you would expect in a larger city 4 star hotel. The four of us have lived in Nelson for years, are in the wine business, and travel extensively. A good place to dine and far better than the noisy, cramped space and boring food served at many Nelson restaurants on Trafalgar St. Certainly not overpriced for top quality dining. Give it a try and you will enjoy.

Very disappointed. The fish was bland and over cooked. My partner’s steak was also over cooked and it seemed as if everything had been pre cooked and warmed up. The server was a trainee so there was no one to talk to about the food. I can honestly say it was the worst meal we’ve had for a long time in New Zealand. It would be nice if our comments were taken on board for future customers.

Went with a group of eight and our orders got messed up twice, the waiter was good about it and sorted it all out. But it was just ???? as there was only two other pairs of people in the restaurant at the time as well as our eight. Average food for the prices, fish n chips was just bland, the steak didn't say it came with cold pickled veggies. But the upside down apple pie "French connection" was amazing. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
