To the Owner of Ocean Restaurant Hello and this message is for the owner of Ocean Restaurant. My name is Brittany and you spoke to me the other day on the road in Kalutara as I was getting off the bus. You said something about the way I was dressed and I walked away. I would like to request that you never to speak to me again. My husband and I live in Sri Lanka and the first time we got scammed here in this country was because of you, so it really upset me to meet you again the other day. Our first days in Sri Lanka you talked to us. You told us there was a great Chinese restaurant in Bentota and you were trying to get us to buy jewelry. You bragged about what a good Buddhist you are and that you own this restaurant. We rode there with you in the tuk and then you left us. There was no Chinese food, we couldn’t buy jewelry because I hadn’t received any paycheck yet, but we ate at the restaurant anyhow. However, the driver you left us with charged me a week of my teaching salary to go back home to Kalutara. We will never forget your face or the face of that tuk driver. We couldn’t buy groceries for a week after we had the bad luck of meeting you. It was a terrible first impression of Sri Lankan people, culture, or experience. It made me regret coming here to teach. If you see us in the street, talk to someone else. We do not trust or like you. It really upset me that you spoke to me again, and it brought back hurtful memories. So I needed to write and tell you this because we will live here two more years.
