Do not recommend!!!!! We are Americans; two of us live in Turkey and other two are from Italy visiting Istanbul. When we went into this modest family cafe, we were greeted and waitress (owner, I believe), described and recommended a large platter of grilled beef and chicken to be shared by all 4. She also brought 2 medium-sized salads, the yogurt dressing, and of course the breads. We were offered an assortment of ice cream bars, brought to our table, and one person ordered coffee. Then came the bill…..2,140TL, or $118USD!! I returned the next day, believing a mistake must have been made, but was told a confusing description of how many kilos of meat we had (3-5), which was an exaggeration, even at 3 kilos! Anyway, no resolution as owners held their ground. I’ve had many meals in Istanbul and all over Turkey, and feel this was a complete rip-off for this meal. We’re we profiled and charged accordingly? You decide.
