This is a very old, traditional, family-run, cozy little bar, jammed packed with history. The original bar owner was an Elvis and Man United fan. Would open the bar at the crack of dawn, 6 AM, to serve coffee and breakfast, famous in the area. Trucks would line-up on the narrow village streets, and drivers would wait for their favorite breakfast before heading to work. A story heard from our Airbnb host, not the bar owner. His kids took over the bar a few years ago and we're very happy they kept the bar open and the tradition going. We had a wonderful night here, and our hosts were very lovely and warm. Food was delicious. Wine even better. Grazie Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This place does not serve the most delicately platted food you've ever seen, but don't let looks deceive you, the taste is sublime. Let's start by saying what is on the menu: snails, bigilla (bean paste), tomato mix on bread, beans, fried rabbit and horsemeat stew. I cannot describe every individual dish because it will take a very long time but these are some of the most renowned traditional Maltese food you can find on the island. And some of the tastiest, I've ever tried. The restaurant, a small, rustic place run by people who have been there most of their lives. You won't find it in your typical tourist guidebooks or the average travel blog. Most of the people there were locals or people who have heard of it from locals. Honestly, don't go there if you are looking for fancy service or déco, go there if you want typical Maltese food. The service was very friendly full of smiles. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Maltese food.
Very delicious Maltese food and they served a good sized plate. The price of the food was a little bit high compared to others. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
