Food is below average. They also charge more for foreigners (hiding the English menu when locals come in), which I understand is a thing in Sri Lanka but if you’re in Ella, it’s worth paying a little more for a better establishment which has quality food. Meal type Lunch

Nice cooking class! The cook explained a lot about the common curry the locals eat. He took his time to answer my questions. I would recommend this class for beginner/intermediate level. If you make a lot of curries at home it's a little too easy. He told me he was new at this restaurant, having worked in other places in town. So he's still finetuning the format. Maybe printed sheets (or even in digital form?) as a reference would be a nice addition. Food tasted great, there was too much for me to finish.

The most amazing experience of our whole trip! This was the best cooking class! Learnt so much and had the best meal in Sri Lanka by a mile. So excited to get home and cook some curries. We made 8 dishes and the chef was outstanding!!

We took Damith's cooking class last night and had a great time! He was funny and patient and answered some of our questions about Sri Lankan culture. We're looking forward to preparing some of those dishes once we get home!

Rice and curry was really tasty. The owner cooks from scratch and asked us first how spicy we wanted it. I’d eaten jackfruit curry before and didn’t really like it (too gloopy), but here it was really fresh and well spiced. Aubergine was also great, as was the dahl. Really recommend this place.

I did the cooking class with Damith at this place. The cooking was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. The food was delicious and we even got the receipts after the class.

We had a cookery class this morning from 10:30 to 12:30 at Nanda Restaurant in the center of Ella and we recommend to book it here. You will cook the different dishes together with him. He is explaining a lot about the ingredients and about the way of cooking, and the dishes (different curries with rice, roti and coconut sambal) were delicious!

Great cafe restaurant on the corner of railway station road. Nice hotel above. Cheap rates. Beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking Ella, good for sunbathing or watching the clouds roll in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great food and lovely atmosphere during the cooking class! The curries were very delicious, definitely recommend to go there when in Ella! We were very last minute and fortunately we could still participate.

The cooking class was great. We could try all on our own with perfect explanation. All our questions were answered. Very kind teacher and his helping family. Kitchen was clean. We had a lot of delicious dishes for dinner afterwards.
