We came across this place accidently, but it was amazing. We tried the sea food rice and mixed rice. The food was delicious, one portion was enough for two people. Very generous with their meat as well. Interior is very artistic and ideal for some nice photos 😉
The name was quite inviting, and the pictures we saw on the reviews were interesting, so we checked it out. We ordered a plate of seafood salad, which didn't taste very fresh, and a pork curry dish, which even though cooked in an interesting style was quite rubbery. The beer was not well chilled. We should have gotten a little higher in quality for the price we have paid (We stayed in Negombo for 6 days, and tried various restaurants).
The place has a cozy interior. We had a mixed experience however. I ordered a veggie pizza and really didn’t know what to expect. The pizza that I got was not a typical high quality Italian pizza (no surprise) but it was tasty so that was fine. :) my girl friend had fried noodles which unfortunately tasted burnt. Since she was so hungry she ate them anyway. I assume we could have returned the burnt dish but still: not so good.
Another point is the bar where they display a fine collection of alcoholics. I don’t know why they display the alcohol really. They don’t have a menu for cocktails not even beer is mentioned. When I asked for cocktails the woman said that I could have a shot of gin or a mojito but since my girlfriend got a soda (water) instead of a tonic water, I stayed away from the cocktails.
When something is not on the menu (banana Lassi), you can ask the price you want...
So 290rs the first day, then 450rs two days later, for the exact same thing (apparently she didn't recognize me).
When I mentioned it the boss ignore me saying "no, that's the price" and went in the kitchen, not trying to talk with me or anything.
Congratulation, now I'm sure that you don't care about your customers.
The food sell in this place looks expensive for what it is (I spent 1 month in Sri Lanka so I know what I am talking about), but we could have come to this place to eat once, because at first the place and staff look nice.
Now we know that it is just fake.

Very nice little place one street from the ’main beach road’. It’s completely new right now (when I wrote the review) and is run by a young family.
The owner shows you the fish or lobsters if you’re interested or just explains questions about the menu, solid english!
The price class is affordable for most and compared to the bigger touristy places i’d say it’s worth to sniff Mom’s rustic kitchen out for a meal or two.
The mom, Florida, might be the warmest person on Srí Lanka! She's really lovely as well as her son. The atmosphere is really pleasant and relaxed, food is local and lovely. Giant portions, great choice. In the evening, there where also some local guys jamming so you can enjoy a cold Lion beer under the tree which is in the middle of the roof above a small, cozy courtyard in this nice atmosphere.
(And they have also a hostel just next to the restaurant in case you need).
One of the best restaurants in the area. Even though it's a small restaurant you can experience a high quality cuisines. Not super cheap, but worth the money. Friendly staff and delicious foods with lots of varieties. Suberb restaurant for small groups and also for couples. Highly recommended...
Super Nice resturante! Lovely staff amazing food. Not super cheap but alot better prices then resturantes with similare food. A rekomendation from us!! Completly new as well!
