A quaint little restraunt. Looks pretty run down outside but the interior is pretty cozy and nice. It's also pretty busy and has both locals and foreigners. The food is alright but given the price it's very competitive. Service was alright , but the place did lack tissues etc . Also seemed a bit understaffed. There is a clear lack of parking so do keep that in mind when visiting. My experience here was quick and memorable. It was busy when my family and I arrived but we were taken care of quickly. You order with the hostess near the entrance and afterwards you’re seated. They have veggie and non-veggie options. The food was so good I forgot to take a picture of it before completely devouring every last bite. The servings were plentiful, food was fresh, and we were served shortly after being seated. A nice bonus is there’s great views from the windows and outside the restaurant too. Mathara Ambula is a great place to visit for its delicious food, stunning location, and excellent service. I highly recommend trying the traditional Sri Lankan dishes, such as kottu roti and hoppers. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they are always happy to make recommendations. The place is also very clean and well-maintained.
