I recently had the pleasure of dining at Maharaja Indian Takeaway in Nagapuna, Rotorua, and it was an exquisite culinary experience. The restaurant’s ambiance was welcoming, and the staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I particularly enjoyed the aromatic spices and fresh ingredients used in their dishes, which truly transported me to India. First time in Maharaja Indian takeaway and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. I m from Auckland, and finding a good spot for food is always difficult . I m glad that, I visited this place. The service I received was so amazing from Zauk and I will definitely be back again. They made me feel welcomed and gave me an amazing experience.

Enjoyed the Chicken Tika Masala, but the mild was quite spicy for me. There was a good amount of chicken and rice. Next time I will probably have a more mild curry.
The garlic narn was very nice with the curry.

Stopped in spur of the moment and had a great chat about India, the cricket World Cup and menu recommendations. Went for the Kadhai chicken as recommended and wasn’t disappointed. Will certainly be back. 🥘

Outstanding food & service! We dined in and the Chef/owner was extremely hospitable. We have dined in many Indian restaurants in our years of travelling and this is certainly up there with one of the best. Would loved to have tried more dishes .. next time we are in Rotorua!
