This place is so lovely. We went into the cocktail bar and Antonio gave us a really good service, explained the cocktails and different Mezcals. Would definitely recommend the place Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Cozy place with great service. Learned of different agave plants and the distinct mezcal flavors they each create. The live guitarist with a great voice and the friendly inebriated local were fantastic additions to the whole experience. Price per person $200–300 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

These are probably some of the best cocktails we had, and Oaxaca. Great atmosphere, everyone was super friendly, and not pretentious, would definitely recommend and go back. Our son loved the baby tables that are next to the windows and reminded us of the famous Zoolander quote. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A tiny place with a big heart and really good mezcal. Also, some live music if you are lucky.
Loved the ambiance, music, service and the food! The cauliflower tacos, rib eye tacos. Tuna tacos, guacamole, in fact everything was excellent! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A group of six, two men and four women, we asked to sit on the rooftop for some drinks and were asked to sit inside for a couple minutes. But no one returned to take us upstairs, perhaps we didn't look the part for their regular clientele? We left and went to the bar across the street with much more friendly service. Fantastic views and delcious food. The black rice was rich and tasty for mains. Luce was a superb server - very chatty and friendly!

Almost gave them four stars because you can get a better value for some of the same drinks at other places but the view makes up for it on the roof terrace. Did not get any food here so I can not attest to the quality of the taste or service. It was a Monday evening and we stopped in around 4pm when it was not very busy to grab a quick drink and take in the sun and beautiful view of the cathedral and the town.

Views for days. They definitely don’t rush you even though the patio is very busy, which is nice. They let us move out of the sun to a table in the shade. The food was good, the views are better.
I think that there is some confusion in the reviews stemming from the fact that the Mezcaleria is separate from the Terrace restaurant, which is a part of the Boutique Hotel which is located across the street from the Mezcaleria. The Mezcal shop or the "Mezcaleria" is a tiny, single-room bar located on the ground floor on Ignacio Allende Street. No terrace. No food. No wine. No TV. Just mezcal, a bartender, and a guitar player. It's very quaint and very old school. The mezcal is good but it is expensive. US prices. There is a very limited sitting room inside but it can be very charming when the guitar player sings a ballad while you're sipping your mezcal and quietly chatting with your better half. Pricey but may very well be worth it.
