Eight of us arrived at 4.30pm as the restaurant opened and despite all staff not on deck, Robert the manager took personal care of us oldies and was very attentive to our needs. Fabulous food and service. This makes Lone Star, Nelson one of my favourite eating places. Met the owners who were awesome and can see why they have such a great venue and staff that make their restaurant an eating destination. Can't rave about this enough. Arrived in Nelson hungry. Took the first place that had room, however we had zero expectations as it was the Lone Star we knew from NA. We were happily surprised the place was packed w many happy customers enjoying fantastic food and drink. I Highly recommend. You will be pleasantly surprised compared to other locals. I had lamb which I never order, my wife had the fish, & m6 daughter had the mussels, which we were all more than happy w. I highly recommend. Real big proportion of food, above the average in terms of flavour at least for what we ordered. I left my phone behind after the dinner and managed to get it back, thanks. Absolute disappointment We went to lone star in Wellington and it was so good we didn’t hesitate to go the Nelson one but oh my goodness the service was terrible. The waiter had no idea what he was doing. We had to ask him multiple times for things including requesting he ask us how we liked our steak cooked - which was ignored. Things like sides, were forgotten and also the menu said crispy crackling on the pork which came out soft and rubbery We also had to ask for the music to be turned down because we couldn’t even hear each other while conversing I would highly recommend you spend your money elsewhere Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $40–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

I took my son here for his 18th birthday on the 11/10/23, all he wanted was Ribs, the food was Amazing, the staff were outstanding too! We got a birthday cake, which was decorated beautifully and a great price! We all ordered different food and it was a 10 out of 10 from all of us! I totally recommend this place for a family friendly place, with an awesome atmosphere! Well done team, we had a great time!! Very warm welcome, plenty of different spaces to sit. Good variety on the menu including gluten free. We had the steak special which was very delicious, steak was tender & terrific. I had the kiwi pavlova which was scrumptious. Lovely ambience with the fires & lighting. Rather noisy when full though.
