Had a great lunch at Little Mermaid restaurant! The rice with curry fish was delicious and the portion (as can be seen on the pic) was quite big. The family running the restaurant is all smiles, so I really enjoyed eating there. Totally recommended! Excellent little restaurant. We had grilled prawn, grilled calamari, and vegetable curry. Everything was fresh and tasty. It’s a small family-run and inexpensive restaurant with only a few tables and a very relaxing atmosphere. The lady who looked after us (maybe the owner) was very pleasant and friendly, you feel they care. It’s our fourth night in Tangalle. We tried Cactus, Break Point and Eva Lanka and The Little Marmaid was the best so far. We’ll return. Meal type Dinner Price per person Rs 4,000–4,500 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Exzellent Rice and Curry, huge Portion and warmly Service! Don't miss to leave the Main road by the ocean and look for Little mermaid. I love this small, cozy hidden place. The food is made with love and is so tasty. I had the rice and curry which was truely excellent and I had the calimari which was also perfect (I had it at another restaurant where it wasn't as good). Little Mermaid is only 100 meters from the busy and loud beach street and you are sitting surrounded by plants, can listen to the many birds around. But most important the family is so warm-hearted and welcoming. It is a great joy to be with them. And please understand that the food is home made, so it needs some time to be prepared like when you cook at home. It's worth it! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We came to this place several times. The ladies were absolutely adorable. Crazy humble, and kind. Food - fish, especially, is probably the best in this area. Portions are significant and full of flavor. It is worth going out from the beach area because prices for the same food are even more friendly. Highly recommend fresh fish and calamari. Really friendly and quite tasty food, the service was a quite slow and for me personally it would have been okay if the food was a little spicier. Overall a good dinner and dessert for a reasonable price but room for improvement. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person Rs 1,500–2,000
