We really enjoyed our lunch there. It seems that is run by an italian-sri lankan partnerships, so it is the best place to take a break from sri lankan food and enjoy italian dishes they cook. They also prepare good coffee which is always a plus.
We read reviews mentioning dogs/cats, but the thing is that we saw a puppy and a cat and they looked clean and well treated

Nice cosy restaurant, good ambiance. Some people wrote about the dogs and cats but they are no problem. They are nice and don’t beg. The food was tasty and fresh.

Relaxing atmosphere. You are let be. Open space but covered from the sun with fans.
Great coffee & good breakfast. Just a little out of the way but would have loved to stay. Next time. Thank you

If you like eating in a clean place - avoid this place. Several strain dogs are sitting next to you. Strain cats are ON THE TABLES. Prices are very high for Trincomale (one of the highest we have seen).
Avoid.
A great small beachcafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It belongs to the bella nilaveli guesthouse but is open for everyone. The food is good with fresh vegetables from the own garden like tomatos, carrots and eggplants. The juices and drinks are fresh and delicious aswell. Try the coffee affogato.
Just order whatever fish they catch locally on the day and you will have a great lunch/dinner. There are dogs and cats but they are harmless and are taken in after being abandoned. It’s not luxury, it’s just simple cooking done well by great people.
Excellent food served with great service! Many products come from the property's vegetable and fruit garden, hand-picked minutes before the preparation - amazing! The kitchen serves a mix of local and international recepies, all with the best quality ingredients. Special attention for healthy and vegetarian treats, like the freshly squeezed aloe vera juice. We've been having every single meal at the cafè during our 2weeks stay at Nilaveli Beach! Might sound boring, but with so many choices and such great food, who'd want to move from there?? Btw, there are also some souvenirs for sale: don't miss the tea and the handmade soap!
Anna‘s place is really cosy with a great lush vegetable garden and a pool- which we and the kids enjoyed a lot! Walking distance to the perfect Nilaveli beaches- endless and empty. We love the restaurant and for sure the real Italian style coffee - hard to get in sri Lanka!
A lot of dogs and cats and even if you like animals is bit annoying and not comfortable that every each moment one of them try to get some food. The prices are overrated and not worth it.
