Las Ahumaderas is made up of several taco bars, and the smoke from the grilled meats wafted down the street enticing diners! Sitting down at a bar seat, I ordered the Vampiro with Adobada, two crispy corn tostadas topped with fatty marinated pork sliced from a rotating spit, along with melted cheese, onions, cilantro, and guacamole. I also had the Kamikaze, a taco with carne asada, two chopped habaneros, onions, cilantro, salsa, and guacamole. This was an aptly-named creation, as the orange-colored habaneros were super spicy, setting my mouth on fire! The tacos went nicely with some lime and grilled scallions, and this made for a fun street food experience! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

What hasn't been said about Las Ahumaderas aka Taco Alley. Bourdain ate here on his Baja tour. We hit Las Tres Salsas as it was the busiest puesto at lunch time. Taqueros were friendly and quick. ¡Super rico! We enjoyed several birria and carne asada tacos around 11:30am and the taqueros were READY to go with the hot meats and the ladies were ready with all the taco accompaniments. Super sweet ladies working there. Make sure you keep close track of how many tacos you get since the system is relaxed (no POS) and a kind of honor system. They have mostly red meats: cabeza, suadero, adobada, etc. Vegans beware. Classic glass bottled sodas and horchata/Jamaica water available. The tacos DO NOT need to be modified, they come perfectly dressed--the salsa is awesome, guac is bright and fresh. Personally, I prefer my tortillas really well done so I asked for them that way and they happily obliged. Perfect birria taco was my favorite. The aggressive flies are obnoxious but the ladies come and clear your plates quickly and it's an open air eatery right next to the street so it's expected. It's all part of the experience and a small price to pay for these authentic Tijuana tacos. This place is better than a lot of the other places you may have heard of. Clean bathrooms. Authentic flavors in a TJ al fresco setting. You won't find something like this in San Diego. ¡Provecho! My first time visiting and definitely won't be my last. The tacos here was mouth watering..made fantástico 😁🥰. I was very pleasantly surprised that they were so delicioso. Thanks to my little brother for bringing us to this location authentic tacos are the best..I bought some home to eat for later on . Not too busy. Great little place with authentic, well stuffed Street sized tacos. Well worth the price. I had asada tacos, hubby had adobado & asada. All excellent!!! You can dine at a street Side bar stool bar or you can come inside the restaurant at a Barstow area or individual tables for up to six people. I ordered two tacos, one of cabeza and the other of asada. The asada taco was undercooked and too blended. The cabeza was average. Tacos are okay overall, but it might also depend on different stands. There are a couple of stands at this location. I feel like this place is overhyped by tourists. It might just be me, but give it a try, and you'll decide. The service, on the other hand, is amazing and fast. Went to Las Tres Salsas. Another amazing experience. Those tacos are to die for. I got them with everything as that's how I like my tacos and then I added some habanero salsa on it to get some extra spiciness. These guys are always busy when I go there and there's a reason why. I highly recommend going here if you want to try some really good tacos. I mean just look at the pics I uploaded! Set your expectations to taco stand and enjoy the food because it's what you'd expect. Hand-made tortillas, good portions, and their chorizo is amazing. Everything was cooked over charcoal save for the trompo. The owner is a great dude!
