About
Order dishes of New Zealand cuisine at this restaurant. Visit La Patio Café & Bar to taste nicely cooked angus steaks, beef fillet and duck. Choose delicious wine, you won't regret it. According to the guests' opinions, coffee is good. This place is famous for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Prices at this spot claim to be fair. The terrific decor and charming atmosphere let guests feel relaxed here. But google users rated this restaurant and it didn't earn a high rating.

The place is really quiet, I guess due to covid, and could do with some music at least. Other than that the food is really good and portions are decent sizes. After entree and main we didn't have space for dessert. Definitely recommend ribs for entree
Had a date night dinner here last week and our main was devine! Was surprised by the poor rating they have overall. My husband and I both had the Angus beef steak with duck fat potatoes and carrot pearls as pictured and it was beautifully cooked and presented. The dessert of rhubarb crumble however did seem quite amateur with the chocolate wafer sticks you get from the supermarket at Xmas time on top and I'm sure it had been microwaved. But overall the main was perfect and service was attentive. Generous wine serving. Would definitely go back to try the High Tea.

I recently had Sunday lunch here with a friend. The staff were friendly and polite. I ordered the Roast of the day which was Roast beef. Unfortunately the beef was cut into strips like a stir fry which made it tough and chewy. It was served with mashed potatoes which I don't think is the right type of potato to serve with a Roast ( it should be Roast potatoes). I then ordered the Apricot slice out of the cabinet which was anything but. It had raisins and pistachio nuts through an apricot fudge slice with coconut on top. The Mocha coffee was nice though other cafes normally serve marshmallows with it. It was a disappointing experience and I won't be back.

Ate there today with my girlfriend and her sister. We were in town to see friends as we currently live in the United Kingdom. We have visited La patio in the past when we use to live in Palmerston North and always found it to be of a consistent high quality. Unfortunately today, I ordered the chicken burger. I was most of the way through it when I discovered that it was not cooked throughly enough and was raw in places. I am assuming that it was deep fried from frozen. This was very disappointing. We were not charged for the meals or coffee we had. Overall it was very disappointing experience and doubt we will ever return there again when in Palmerston North.
Took my parents for a late Saturday breakfast (10.30am) were told breakfast was finished and were told we would have to order off the lunch menu. 30mins later (once ready to order) we were told the lunch chef wasn't there so we were told to order breakfast instead. Food took ages to arrive and was very expensive for what we got. Very disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended my parents to eat there. Would not recommend and will not be going there again.

Two stars only because the waiter was trying hard, but the kitchen wasn't helping him. Sunday birthday lunch with family over the weekend, ordered the creamy mushrooms on ciabatta... Expected the usual small or halved mushrooms, sautéed and finished with cream. What I got resembled cat food on two soggy pieces if bread. It was puree and didn't taste especially mushroomy. And tepid to boot. Not impressed. Will lobby for a different venue for the next family meet up.
Poor srvice and the food was not very nice. Pork belly dry and crackling burnt. My wife's lamb had sinu running through it and the made potato was lumpy. There was a function in the room next door and the base of the music was extremely annoying which the waitress said she could do nothing about. Overall a celebration ruined. Will not return.

Just finished a beautiful dinner at La Patio after a long drive from Auckland! Entree was Duck spring rolls and main was the scotch fillet with mash and steam veges (hubby) and potato croquettes (moi). Melt in the mouth - medium rare - with mushroom sauce! Hãhã Sav for starters and Merlot with main! Service was attentive and sincere in making the whole meal an excellent experience!! If you want your custom to be appreciated and are tired of big city blasé service - experience La Patio. Restored our faith in restaurant service and meals!!
Went for my birthday lunch, table was unclean, food wasn't worth the price and was generally very disappointed. I didn't finish my tasteless Caesar salad and we went elsewhere for dessert. Most of the staff were presentable and professional. At least the beer was cold.
Seriously poor. The menu is limited. The food itself is very home cooked style with no class or finesse. Do not choose to eat here unless you are incapable of going elsewhere. A total waste of money and it was like being in a black comedy as far as the service was concerned. The waiter had no idea what was on the menu and was clearly filling in.
