Amazing restaurant by the lake. You have to go through the hotel reception, past the pool to get here. Once there the setting is just beautifull. We were served by the lovely Diana. The food was amazing! A bit more pricier than we were used too but maybe the best food we had so far. We took some tapas as an entree, but you also get some nice bread and dips wich were both tasty. Cajun style Salmon, maybe the best Salmon I've ever had! This reastaurant had it all, definately worth a visit! It was far more upscale than I anticipated. I was seated on the deck and the view was stunning. My food was cooked exactly as requested, the wine was wonderful, and the staff was super friendly. I had been walking all day and really wanted to grab a bite and rest, but they weren't open yet. Instead of asking me to wait outside, they seated me and made sure I had something cold to drink until the kitchen was ready. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great service, good food, reasonable prices. Beautiful view if the night is right. We really enjoyed our visit here. Kind of hard to find, you have to go through the hotel out to the back by the water, but it's nice. The drinks were great as well. The bread sticks just kept coming too, better than Olive garden lol.

This qualifies as a unique dining experience. It appears to be located in a neighborhood. You enter through the hotel lobby and then walk on a path to the restaurant. The restaurant is located on the lagoon side and is partly over the water. The drinks are good and the free appetizers are very tasty. We particularly like the mussels in wine sauce. Their duck and other entrees are all very enjoyable. It is good to call for reservations and state whether you prefer seating on the dock near the water or further in the restaurant. Delicious ! Great service and very nice sitting on the lagoon !! For dining with the sunset - off beat track - away from tourists
Service took forever. Waitress often forgot to get the utensils we requested, water or even the check, even though there were only two groups of people in total - one medium sized and one small group. The food was mediocre. Overall, not worth the price. Visited here toward the end of October.
The food was great. The service was very slow. The restaurant was hard to find even for our taxi driver. It's located behind a hotel and sits on the lagoon. It can get very windy. One has to go back through the hotel to the front desk to pay the bill. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $1–100 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
La Palapa Belga is our favorite restaurant in Cancun. The food never disappoints and totally different than anything else you will find in Cancun. It is quiet and romantic on the lagoon off a side street in a small neighborhood. Not the typical loud and touristy place. We ate there 3 times on our last trip. The French Onion soup, mushrooms with blue cheese and Greek salad are wonderful to start with. I had the fish of the day, the steak with peppercorn sauce and the stuffed chicken while others in the group had the pork tenderloin and salmon - all good. The drink selection is nice too. If you want a place to eat that is a bit off the beaten path but still located conveniently in the hotel area (across from the Presidente Hotel on side street) please visit this local favorite. If you are looking for a cheap and typical menu at a loud and crowded restaurant, this is not the place to go. And hopefully Pepe the huge crocodile will be hanging around in the water!
