After a walk around Ethnobotanical Garden, many visitors stop by this bar. La Mezcalerita provides nicely cooked laing, guacamole and monkfish. This place is known for good craft beer, stout or wine. They have a huge variety of drinks and the staff will be happy to explain the sorts that they offer and give recommendations upon your liking. The food that they have is also delicious and perfect for a snack/meal. The atmosphere is very relaxed, friendly and joyful and the terrace is very pretty. It's one of the cute little spots in Oaxaca. It's a hidden treasure. Wonderful and big selection of local beers. Delicious appetizers like garnachas. Crazy extra tasty cocktails. Seemed grossly overpriced. Craft beer is 90P-100P at most places in Oaxaca, Puerto Escondido and Playa del Carmen. 120P to 150P for similar Mexican craft beer here. This is more expensive than what we typically pay on the west coast of NA (BC, Washington, Oregon). Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

We were staying down the street and didn't see more than 1 person in here for a week. We decided to give it a chance but the bartender had the personality of a paper bag. He was a bit helpful choosing our mezcals from the extensive menu but there are so many more fun places to choose - especially for the price!
