About
In the heart of the jungle in Tulum lies Kokoro, a Japanese establishment that serves up some of the best sushi in town. The ambiance is romantic and unique, with candles and string lights guiding the way to the fine dining spot. Inside, the decor is aesthetically pleasing with a tree-house feel. Prices are on the higher end, but the quality of the food justifies it. The establishment offers outdoor seating and live music on some nights. The menu features an array of dishes, including the Wagyu Nigiri, which is prepared tableside and melts in your mouth. The Tuna Tartare with truffle is another standout dish, as well as the Soft Shell Crab Maki. The cocktails are also noteworthy, such as the Kayandi made with sake, mezcal, lychee, strawberry, and egg whites. For non-alcoholic options, try the refreshing Hibiscus Tea or the Coconut Water. Kokoro also offers a unique feature - a walk past a cenote to get to the establishment. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, making for a memorable dining experience. Overall, Kokoro is a must-visit place for sushi lovers in Tulum.

I will always be sure to visit Kokoro at least once during my stays in Tulum. The service there is amazing, the staff are so friendly and attentive. The sushi is one of the best I’ve ever tried. This restaurant is a bit on the pricier side so factor that in. The atmosphere is elegant and the lights are dimmed. A very relaxed vibe. This is the best Japanese restaurant in Tulum. Me and my wife dined here at least 30 times in the past 3 years. Their menu is amazing, they have a lot of vegetarian options. Their staff is super friendly. Special thanks to their team of cooks and Angel. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $800–900 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Caviar
Kokoro is a vibe!!! As soon as we entered this hidden gem, we were greeted with smiles. Our waiter, Angel was extremely friendly and informative about the menu. We watched the chefs live and they seemed very passionate about their food and were very polite. We ordered the spicy edamame and kampachi crunchy wonton for appetizers. For entree, we ordered nikkei maki and chef’s selection of nigiri. And for dessert, we ordered the yuzu panna cotta. Every dish was spectacular, flavorful, and made with patience and love. We would recommend this to anyone visiting Tulum! ❤️ Price per person $600–700 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Some of the best sushi and mezcalitas I have had, not just in Tulum, in the world. First class service, unbeatable and unique setting in the rainforest treetop, and if there is rain? No worries they literally have you covered! Just wow! Can’t wait to go back. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $600–700

The venue was very nice (upstairs open floor) and we’ll decorated. The staff was very attentive and Aaron was a great waiter. He made genuine recommandations and was very caring and friendly. Kokoro has been a summum of my stage in Tulum. I dare to say it is the best experience one can have in this paradise, and I don’t just mean the superb japanesse food I was not able to taste in any other place in the World. It has to do too with the beautiful location at Copal Tulum Hotel, the jungle mistic ambient, the show cooking, its service staff, …it has it all. There is no other experience more rewarding than this every time I come to Tulum ♥️ Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $800–900 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We had an amazing experience here. No reservation and was able to get in right away. We chose to sit at the chef's counter to get the full experience! Each course was delicately made with intention. Chef Roberto explained everything we ate. His knife skills were meticulous. Our server was Ana. She was very kind and polite. Other staff ensured our sake and water were always full. Come here for a great sushi experience! You won't regret it! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100–200
