What a pleasant experience: We did a late stopover in a small hotel nearby and were sent to Bistro Kaval by the landlord.
First surprise: An amuse bouche - wild boar pate with fresh bread. Then more unexpected revelations: Excellent food - we had the Tagliatelle Porcini with Starfish, the chicken salad, the chicken burger and for dessert the tiramisu and the hot chocolate souflet - and we're struck positively by the awesome quality. The award winning red wine of a nearby local winery rounded things up nicely. The service rendered by a young woman speaking fine English was friendly, fast and perfect. The pricing very fitting. All in all to be recommended warmly. We'll put it on our list of stopovers to be remembered for a future return.

Pleasant surprise. Nice ambient that gives a feeling of homeliness, very friendly and professional staff, a chef ready to help and create a quality dinner even for vegan diets (we came without a reservation !). Familiar and proven faces can create a pleasant atmosphere, warmly recommended.

We stopped by at sunset on return to Novo Mesto initially just for drinks but stayed for dinner. The ambiance is extremely nice. Peaceful rustic but upmarket and classy. Food selection ranges from Pizza to Cuisine and was excellent in quality and value. We had appetizers, local cheese salad and shared. I can’t imagine how it could have been better. The local wines were superb quality. Thank you Kaval!

The restaurant is very nice and cosy. We had a lovely table close to the fireplace... staff was super professional and friendly, and food was great. Pizza is fantastic! We will definitely come back!

Prijeten ambient, izredno prijazno in ustrežljivo strežno osebe in seveda več kot odlična hrana. Pizze so res top in seveda tudi sladice. Priporočam tudi točen radler, ki je res dober. Toplo priporočam obisk.

Gisteren hebben we een fantastische culinaire avond gehad in Bistro Kaval. De bediening en aanbevelingen van Jasmina en Lucija waren uitstekend. We hebben hoogstaand lokaal eten gekregen en lokale wijn. We hadden een inspirerend gesprek met chef Boian.
Een aanrader voor iedereen die graag geniet van lekker eten en een ontspannende en toffe omgeving.

Res prijeten ambient s simpatičnimi gostinci. Postrežba je bila hitra oz. primerna degustacijskemu meniju, hrana odlična, tudi sam izbor vin je bil raznolik in zelo zanimiv. Z veseljem so prisluhnili tudi našim željam.
Cena je bila primerna. Sigurno se pridemo še kdaj pocrkljat v sam center “pogurja”. Toplo priporočamo.
