Very expensive but delicious & very well cooked chips with crunchy batter. Service was odd. We bought 2 rig & 1 elephant fish - we got 5 very small pieces of fish (3 & 2) in return unsure which was which - if the rig were the tiny pieces then it was a rip off but I did notice that they sold out of rig shortly after our order? Maybe that’s why there were 3 prices of elephant fish? Who knows! Most expensive fish n chip’s we ever had but not as expensive as Nins up the road!

Best chips I've had in a long time! They were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. We also got the chicken burger, hotdogs and rig fish. All were very good although the fish was a fairly small portion. The servers were very friendly and even brought our food outside to us, which you don't usually get at a takeaway place. There are picnic tables outside to enjoy your food at which were in a nice sunny spot. Highly reccomend

Service was friendly but the fish were thin, small and overcooked. The scoop of chips was also pretty darn small and everything was over salted. Expected better value and quality from Kaikoura fish and chips.
If you see lots of vehicles with boats or bristling with rods parked at a fish and chip shop, you know that it's got to be good! Fishermen know their fish n chips and they appear to know this place. Real fish n chips, wrapped in paper. Took them down to the esplanade and enjoyed immensely.

This was the last fish n chips for me to try, in town. By far the nicest! The fish burger was delicious and th chips were exactly how we like them, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Blue Cod and Hot Dog went down a treat for the BF! Nice work team. Definitely my new go to after a long day in the sun👍

Best fish & chips I have ever had the gurnard was the full fillet with light crunchy batter the battered sausage was beautiful and the chips were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside everything was cooked perfectly with no oily aftertaste the staff were great to deal with highly recommend to everyone

Popped in on way home to ChCh today and enjoyed THE BEST chips I have ever had at a fish n chip shop. Owners were super friendly, chatting to the clients and making sure we enjoyed our meal. We will most definitely be back for more of those delicious chips. Hubby had a hot dog and they batter over the existing pre-made batter with their own batter - he said it was delicious!!
