Given the super limited options in this area, this is a decent choice. Cash only. There’re definitely a lot of veggies in the pork noodle soup. The noodles are a bit chewy and some thick ones were not fully cooked. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Chanced upon this restaurant during our day trip in Kawaguchiko. Excellent find. Hoto noodles are true to the other reviews. Hot soup, well seasoned vegetables and hand made noodles can’t go wrong on a cold winter day. Definitely go for the tempura too, very light batter and fresh ingredients. Might be the best tempura I had this trip 👍🏼 We ordered a few drinks to pair with lunch so it became slightly pricier. Try a local brewed sake made with Fuji water while you’re there. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person ¥2,000–3,000

Wow! What an amazing place! It was my first time coming here and they truly serve authentic houtou with generous amount of vegetables! I have made houtou traditionally in Yamanashi and as a Japanese, I can certify it's one of the best places to eat authentic houtou food! It was meant to open at 11:00am, but they were super welcome to let me in before the opening hours! ⸜(*ˊᵕˋ*)⸝ᵗʱᵃᵑᵏᵧₒᵤ Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Pumpkin Hoto was so good, tons of fresh vegetables and the noodles were perfectly chewy ! Shopkeeper was very friendly and accommodating, she even let us sit out on the patio with a fantastic view of Fuji! We don’t speak much Japanese but the menu had pictures and enough English description that it was easy to place an order.

Small restaurant that specialises in thick noodles. The serving is huge and pricing is very reasonable. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Tried the pumpkin hoto on a cold day. If you like hearty soups with noodles, this is perfect. This was arguably one of the best soups I have ever had. The burdock root added a nice texture, and the broth is slightly sweet. Noodles are perfectly chewy.
One of the few limited places around the natural living centre where you can sit down and have a full meal. Serves the local Hoto noodles with lots of fresh veg in the noodle soup. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Did not expect this to be the best restaurant we’ve ate at during our 3 weeks visiting Japan. Very good price, noodles are homemade, and generous on ingredients. P.s in the photo , I already ate half of it so the portion size is bigger than seen

We were hungry and found this little 5-star restaurant serving the local houtou noodles just 80m up the road from the natural living centre near oishi park. So so good. We tried the pumpkin, boar meat and Pork houtou. All very yummy. Must try!
