This is another outlet of the famous Hela Bojun Restaurant chain, but being administered by the Ministry of Tourism. This has been opened in 2020 and being managed by the ladies from Panama local community. It is a good place to eat if you are passing Panama and going towards Kumana National Park or Arugam Bay.
Has a variety of food items at a reasonable price, ranging from Roti, Thosei, Rice, string hoppers, milk rice etc. to sweets. However, the variety & the number of employees are a bit less than the other Hela Bojun outlets, hence food items get sold out quickly. Around 20-25 people can dine in at once. Parking area can accommodate upto around 10 vehicles.
Best place to taste Sri Lankan traditional foods. You can enjoy sunset view here and paddy fields view. Staffs are very friendly and the price is very cheap. Because, this restaurant is under government sector (Tourism Ministry)
A stones throw away from the beautiful Panama beach. The restaurant sits on stilts with domestic buffaloes feeding underneath. Delicious buffet with big vegetarian options. Get a true taste of Sri Lankan food without having to ask for extra chillies 🌶
This Traditional Food Centre is a fascinating place where local ladies engage in cooking for visitors as a means of demonstrating local foods and generating income. The atmosphere with birds chirping and the green ambience is heart touching. Real SRI LANKAN taste !!! 🥗🥙🥒🥦🥬
